PROVOST SPEAKER SERIES JANUARY PROGRAM AT

MESABI RANGE COLLEGE

The Mesabi Range Colleges Provost Speaker Series is offering the second program of the monthly

series. This program will be presented by Mr. David Dailey, Dean of Students, who will be speaking on

Teaching Strategies for Adult Learners: New Approaches to Education at the Community and Technical

College. The program will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m., Mesabi

Range College, Virginia Campus, Room C158.

Mr. Dailey will discuss the need to continuously update how instruction is provided to adult learners

as community and technical colleges continue to meet their needs. Generations change and learning styles

vary so looking to continuously improve instruction is a necessary step to take. Mr. Dailey will provide

research highlighting best practices for the classroom based on his graduate studies work in Educational

Leadership. Mr. Dailey has been the Dean of Students since 2007 and has worked in various roles in

Student Services bringing years of experience helping students reach their educational goals. Mr. Dailey is

working on his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from St. Marys University.

These monthly programs are free and open to the public. Please bring your lunch and join us.
