STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

“Without ambition one starts nothing. Without work one finishes nothing…” I strongly believe the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson said in this famous quote.

I am Jangireddy Bojja an undergraduate student in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Avanthi Scientific Technology and Research Academy affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, have applied to graduate program in Electrical Engineering at your redeemed university. In the following lines I attempt to give a brief portrayal of my interests, aptitude, education and extracurricular activities.

My interest in Electronics blossomed during my high school years. It was the time when technology had begun to make an impact on the lives of people in India. Hence, engineering withElectronics as my major was the first choice for my undergraduate studies. Right since the beginning of my undergraduate study, Electronics is a subject that has fascinated me with its power of applications. The subjects that I have studied include Electronic Devices and Circuits, Electronic Circuit Analysis, Pulse and Digital Circuits, Switching Theory and Logic Design. These laid the foundation for my courses in Electronic Design and VLSI in later stage. My undergraduate studies already focus on the designing aspect of electronics. A master’s degree in Electrical Engineering is the next logical step.

In the second year of my program, the course in Electrical Machines fascinated me with its applications like motors, generators, alternators and transformers. Experiments in the subject lab further strengthened my basic concepts and were complemented by the industrial visit to Katedan Substation in Hyderabad, India. Application of semiconductor power devices in various industrial drives interested me a lot. I also delivered seminars on various topics in electric machinery.

Another visit to the “Srisailam Hydro Power Plant” gave me an understanding of hydropower generation. As some part of it was under construction the technical challenges and the triumphs of the Hydro Power project greatly amazed me. My interest in power and energy increased greatly thereafter and I read extensively on energy and power systems.

My mini project was on "Temperature Controlled Fan".

I also participated actively in different social activities like blood donation camps and helpingorphanage. Also I participated actively in many cultural activities conducted in our college.

My Principle field of Interest:

Electronics has changed our lives and also transformed the world. It also benefits and enhances

the whole world market by creating a tighter community and allowing for quicker reaction time and exchange of information. A world without Electronics would not be possible. I want to learn, satiate my never-ending curiosity in electronics and make the optimum use of Technology. This calls for a higher level of knowledge, expertise and capacity to research extensively.

Self Evaluations:

It is after great deal of self evaluation and with no exaggeration that, I consider myself a social person, independent, optimistic and original with strongly marked individuality. I am personally dependable, eager to learn and committed to work. I believe I have fairly good conversational power with fluency in languages like English, Telugu and Hindi.

Why Concordia University:

I chose your university because of the quality education, flexibility and various courses you offerin the field of Electronics. Such atmosphere promotes one to measure one’s pace and gauge one’saptitude, while making the journey to one’s sojourn goal, delightful.

I am convinced that the facilities are excellent and faculties of the department have a strongeducational background. I am aware that the university expects very high standards from itsstudents and I am confident that I will be able to live up to the standards expected. Thus, Istrongly desire to continue my further education and research at your university. If given anopportunity, I assure you my dedication and diligence and my desire to excel would allow me tomake a remarkable contribution to the university.

Thank you
