Crewcuts Spring 2012 Forecast
Forcasted designs for Crewcuts by researching mega trends and filtering down into the crewcuts brand identity. Collection is designed to give options on what to wear by being interchangeable and designed to layer. Colorblocking, ruffles, embellishments, and the cinematic colors are all filtered down from major social and fashion trends.
The Consumer is 18-22 years old and has recently moved to the city to pursue her dreams and to receive an education. She lives a life influenced by her metropolitan surroundings and her love of nature. Her wardrobe is founded on functionality with beautiful details and a sense of delicacy.

Problem Statement:To create a plus size line under the American Eagle Outfitters brand which empowers curvier girls to confidently and boldly live out their lives with properly fitting clothes.
By creating a line for curvy girls in their teens and in college, American Eagle Outfitters can widen their target market. American’s have continued to become larger, despite the diet and exercise phenomenon. The clothing line will appeal to curvy girls (plus size), making them feel confident, connected, bold, and empowered to Live their Life. Clothing will fit comfortably and properly, allowing girls to overcome anxiety and self-consciousness; so they can live their lives to the fullest. Proportions change as the body gains weight and therefore needs a new system of patternmaking. The more weight gained, the more variation as to where the weight is distributed. Sizes will consist of XL to 5XL with two-three different body types. American Eagle and A&F’s sizes are smaller than standard US sizing. AEO Curvy collection will have correct sizing to prevent young girls from thinking they are larger than they are.
