Textile designer maker focused on interiors and surface design, with primary inspiration coming from the journey of life. Utilising personal travel, pattern banking, documenting and photography to continuously innovate. Seeking trainee or graduate profile job, willing to relocate to any part of the UK. Working with fellow peers and tutors to display and co-‐ordinate our final major projects. May 2013 – July 2013: Lehome – Home design company – China Worked for Lehome bedding company, on a loose self motivated brief for two months in Ningbo, China. Designing hand drawn and computer manipulated designs for bed covers. Keeping a strong relationship with the client while discussing refining and finalising patterns, which led to the purchase of several designs.
May 2013 – July 2013: Zhejiang Fashion and Textiles college – Placement exchange -‐ Ningbo, China Studying and teaching with Zhejiang college for two months. Helping within English and textiles classes to both inform and inspire their studies. April 2012 – May 2012: Mollie Regan textiles – Poole During the last month of my first year I was set a brief by Mollie Regan Textiles to create hand embroidery pieces for an interior client. We were set the brief and given the freedom to choose choose colours, beads and the stitch design work.
February 2011 – August 2011: Louise Gardiner – Embroidery Artist -‐ Cheshire
I worked with machine embroiderer Louise Gardiner during the summer term. I worked alongside Louise in her studio and while teaching in her ‘Supersticher’ workshops. I enjoyed working with Louise so much and gained a lot of insightful information about being a freelance designer. Her work is fun, exciting and colourful and inspired me a lot during my Foundation year.
October 2010 – October 2011: Oasis – Retail assistant House OF Fraser -‐ Altrincham Working for Oasis helped me keep up to date with the fashion trends and movements. It was especially important to keep up with the changing seasons. I provided great product knowledge of clothes and accessories to customers while also delivering excellent customer service. I handled monies and was given the authority to look after the stand alone.
August 2010 -‐ August 2011: The Rope & Anchor – Waitress -‐ Cheshire Working in a popular restaurant in the Cheshire countryside meant I had to be responsible for giving great customer service while dealing with the demands of a busy restaurant. Using skills such as time management, organisation and good communication between staff and customers.
