XHniv>erBit\> Ibospital, Ikansas Missouri.1005 Campbell Street.

On September 1, 1898, the Hospital reopened underits new name, the University Hospital. Previous to thistime it had been known as All Saints’ Hospital, and wasat first under the auspices of Saint Mary’s EpiscopalChurch; to-day it is governed by the University MedicalCollege of Kansas City, Mo. The Hospital was closedduring July and August for repairs. A new roof was puton, two of the wards converted into private rooms, newplumbing put in, besides many other changes were made, putting the building into a good sanitary condition. Theoperating-room has been newly supplied with aseptictables, stands, electric adjustable light, electric cautery, electric batteries for electrolysis and galvanism, X-ray ap-paratus for photographing the interior of thebody; uniformheat by means of electric coils for pneumonia, cornealulcers, iritis, and uterine disease; a powerful electric mag-net for removing metallic foreign bodies from the eye infact, all the most modern, up-to-date appliances are at the

disposal of the surgeon sending or treating patients heie. This Hospital is open to all, without respect to credo inmedicine or religion. While there is no fund back of theinstitution to apply to non-paying patients, the price ofsome of the rooms and the ward is so low as to be withiithe reach of people of limited means. It is the aim of llvManager to have at hand all the essential modern improvements, that the very best results from medical and surgicaskill may be obtained.

Besides the Superintendent, there are two Interne.cand twelve trained nurses, who are not only competentbut vigilant and faithful in the discharge of duty. An)physician sending or bringing patients here may rest assured that they will receive the most careful professionalconsideration and that every effort will be made on thepartof the Manager, Superintendent, Internes, and nurses tobring about the most favorable conditions to recovery.
