JCCAC是一所多元化及對外開放的藝術村兼藝術中心，為藝術家和公眾提供一個互動的平台，並不時有各類型有趣的文化藝術活動供公眾參與，例如每年12月的 JCCAC藝術節、每季的手作市集、各類主題展覽、實驗性舞台演出、文化導賞、藝術興趣班等。

JCCAC的正規設施包括展覽廳和黑盒劇場，週末常有節目舉行。公眾可於 JCCAC網頁和每月出版的節目指南找到活動資料，或登記電郵以定期接收到 JCCAC節目資訊。

此外，JCCAC內分佈各樓層的特色空間有各類藝術品和藝術活動資料，歡迎公眾於開放時間內悠閒地參觀，自己近距離發掘和感受藝術創意氣氛。

Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre

A multi-disciplinary artist village and arts centre, JCCAC provides an interactive platform for artists and the public through interesting arts and cultural events, which includes among other things, the annual JCCAC Festival in December, quarterly handicraft fair, various themed exhibitions, experimental stage performances, guided cultural tours and art workshops.

On most weekends, visitors may find art events and exhibitions being held in JCCAC’s Galleries and Black Box Theatre. Information about events and programmes can be obtained from the JCCAC website, the Programme Guide which JCCAC publishes monthly, or by subscribing to JCCAC e-news.

Dotted around JCCAC are art works and interesting art information. Visitors are welcome during opening hours to leisurely stroll around JCCAC and discover for themselves the creative spirit of the place.

賽馬會表演藝術場地資助計劃此計劃資助本地藝術家和藝團，免費租用位於JCCAC藝術村的黑盒劇場。黑盒劇場的靈活表演空間，能切合不同製作及演出需要，發揮種種藝術創作的可能，帶領觀眾經歷嶄新的演藝觀賞經驗，是發表中/小型創意作品的理想平台。

這是一個追夢的故事。

李紹忠（Joe）無師自通雕塑創作，今天有自己的藝術工作室，是全職藝術家。傳奇是，他工廠技工出身，人生走到近四十歲時，才第一次有機會正式上藝術課。

他謙虛說自己讀書不多，但喜歡做手工、美勞，於是中學畢業後到工廠當工模技工。為芭比公仔的完美身段鑄模，卻令他日後踏上藝術之路。他一直沒有放棄創作，「造工模的過程學會用打磨工具，亦接觸到各類材料，於是嘗試將金屬鑲嵌入木材中，發現很有可塑性。」他只用界刀和剉，以家中廚房為工作室，1990年做出第一件作品，靈感來自圖騰。

後來模廠北移，他轉職電子零件公司做品質檢査員，工作較悠閒，腦袋浮現愈來愈多創作靈感。Joe 是感性的人，作品都反映自己或朋友的感想和經歷：「2007 年我開始製作一些有意念和故事性的作品，假日在香港文化中心外的藝墟擺賣，結識了一些藝術家朋友，其中一位介紹我到香港視覺藝術中心修讀雕塑專修課程。」成功獲取錄，雖然同學當中有藝術系碩士畢業生，而 Joe 才第一次正式修讀藝術，但他有天份，速寫，學習石雕、木雕、泥塑、裝置藝術等都如魚得水。課程更讓 Joe 結識了一班志同道合的朋友，一起創立「雕塑型社」。2011 年 Joe 成功在 JCCAC

設立 HK Carbon 工作室，決心把工作辭去，全職投入藝術創作。他在JCCAC 遇上更多的機會，以「雕塑型社」成員身份，參與了幾個大型公共藝術項目，包括 2012 年參加香港國際雕塑創作營，作品在鰂魚涌海濱公園展出，和在離 JCCAC 不遠的石硤尾邨第五期中央廣場，獲香港房屋委員會委約創作了一幅紀念公營房屋發展六十年的巨型馬賽克壁畫。「我喜歡集體創作，很享受過程中的學習和分享。」

現在，除創作、教授和參加「JCCAC 手作市集」外，Joe 仍時有在文化中心外的藝墟擺檔。以往曾有賞識者招攬他將作品大量生產，遊說他合作發展生意，但 Joe 婉拒了：「能親手做出一件件的作品，才是我的快樂。」他知足，得太太和女兒支持，有溫馨的家庭，不嚮往賺大錢，反而像他的作品《目標》一樣，抱著理想，抓緊機遇，扎實地一步步努力：「其實現在自己能有正式的藝術工作室，全程投入藝術工作，已是我的夢想成真了。」

Joe Li has his own art studio at JCCAC and creates fascinating works

that sell like hotcakes at handicraft fairs. Who would believe that he is a

self-taught artist who did not take any serious art course until almost

forty? This is a story about how he chased his dream.

Joe was fond of arts and crafts as a child. After graduating from high

school, he became a factory worker making molds for Barbie dolls. “I

learnt to use different material and tools, and was fascinated by the

possibilities of inlaying metal in wood.” He turned his kitchen into a work-

shop, and using just a cutter and steel file, created his first piece inspired

by totem in 1990.

Rather the sentimental type, his likes to convey messages and tell

stories through his work. “I began to create conceptual and narrative

works in 2007, and sold them at the crafts fair at Hong Kong Culture

Centre on weekends. An artist I met at the fair encouraged me to take a

specialist arts course in sculpture run by the Hong Kong Visual Arts

Centre.” Although Joe never had any formal arts training before, he

delved into the course work like a duck to water.

With a group of l ike-minded fr iends met through the course, Joe

co-founded “We Sculptors” . And when Joe successfully set up his own

arts studio “HK Carbon” at JCCAC in 2011, he was finally able gave up

his day job to became a full-time artist. He has since co-created several

large-scale public artworks, such as one for the Hong Kong International

Sculpture Symposium 2012, and most recently a large mosaic mural in

Shek Kip Mei Estate near JCCAC commissioned by the Hong Kong

Housing Authority. “I enjoy learning and sharing while co-creating works

with artist friends” said Joe.

Part from creating artworks and teaching, Joe still participates in JCCAC

Handicraft Fairs when he can. He has been approached by admirers of

his work with propositions of mass production and business partnership,

but Joe turned them down. “I relish the satisfaction of making every

piece I create with my own hands.” He is a contented man with a

supportive family who does not aspire to make big money. Just like his

work “Goal” , he embraced his dream and worked hard to reach it, one

little step at a time. “Finally having my own art studio to work full time as

an artist is truly my dream come true.”

Editor’ s note: Joe’ s is a real story of someone who made his dream

come true through talent, persistence and hard work. Like Joe, we all

had dreams. But where are they now? Perhaps it is never too late to start

chasing if you truly believe in it.
