1. Trans-Himalayan Zone

*Extension of Tibetan Plateau

*Include high altitude cold desert &mountain vegetation

*Richest wild sheep & goat community in the world

*Snow leopard is found here

2. Himalayan Zone

*It comprises diverse biotic provinces &biomes

*4 Biotic provinces : north-west, west, central &east Himalayas

*Have 3 Zones of vegetation

3.Desert Zone*3 Biotic provinces – salt desert of Gujarat , Thar sand deserts & Ladakh

*It has extensive grass lands

*The great Indian Bustard a highly endangered species of animals is found here
