availability of contracep-tives for women in Amer-ica?” she asked. “No.Anyone who wants contra-ceptives can buy them. TheObama administration’shidden mandate is abor-tion.”Before the end of the
rally, those in attendancewere urged to support reli-gious freedom by textingFREEDOM to 377377.Naomi Reeh, 20, attended
the rally, riding on the Tri-Parish bus. She shared theexperience with her mom,Jolene. The Reeh family at-tends St. John’s Church.“The rally was such a
moving experience,” Naomisaid. “It was great to be ableto stand up for the cause ofreligious freedom for our
country.”Naomi will be starting
her third year at Benedic-tine College this fall. She isstudying elementary educa-tion and theology. She plansto continue to be involved inthe pursuit of religious free-dom.“I’ve already signed
some online petitions incontinued support of thestand for freedom,” she
said. “I also plan to write toour senators and other offi-cials about the issue.”Sacred Heart Church
parishioner Pat Skoloutsaid she was impressed bythe number of young peo-ple, including small chil-dren, attending.“I thought [the rally] was
great,” she said. “I was im-pressed and inspired. I en-joyed the speakers.”
Pat said that she was gladshe attended even thoughthe weather was very hot.Also catching a ride on
the bus was Don Antholz ofAtwood, who attendsCourts of Praise Church.“It was well worth it [to
attend],” he said. “I’m reallyglad that I went.”“I was proud of the show-
ing from Rawlins County,”Fr. Nick said. “ In such arare and unprecedentedtime we’re in with this man-date, the rally provided animportant platform to ex-press our opinions.”St. Mary’s parishioner
Ron Beims agreed.“The rally showed that a
lot of people were con-cerned with the obviousgovernment infringementon the freedom of people topractice their religion,” hesaid. “This was an opportu-nity to stand up and beheard. You have to stand upand be counted and say,‘Hey, that’s enough.’”Beims said he was im-
pressed with the number ofRawlins County people whoattended the rally.“We had solidarity in
showing our concerns,” hesaid.Chartering a bus to take
area participants to therally was originated at anAtwood Knights of Colum-bus meeting. Sacred Heartparish paid for the bus andreceived donations from theKnights of Columbus, theTri-Parish's ChristianMothers Altar Societygroups, First CatholicSlovik Ladies Associationand a number of individual,according to Fr. Nick.
