1 We use the simple past tense to show an action done in the past.

· Usually the time of action is given in the sentence.

· The verb /action word has to be in the past tense.

Examples: The postman came late yesterday.verb time of action

Long ago, man travelled on horses and camels.

2 The action words in the past tense usually end with ‘ed’

5 Some action words do not end with ‘ed’:
