The owners of Ladyfingers gallery, Steve and Elaine Kaufman, have always had the urge to travel. Together they have made
numerous trips to Europe, Asia, and just recently North Africa. They have been robbed in the Paris Metro, deliberately short changed in a bus station in Florence, overcharged and tricked by taxi drivers from Beijing to Barcelona, and have come close to dying when their chauffeured driven Toyota Land Cruiser nearly slid off a 16,000 foot pass on a LONELY dirt road in Tibet.
Despite these perils, the blistering heat, and various travelers illnesses, they would not have changed a thing. They believe the adventure has been worth it, as they have seen the most incredible things and met the most wonderful people from all walks of life.
Their travels have influenced and inspired the look and feel of their gallery which opened in 1977. Since their opening they have been committed to finding the most creative and exciting jewelry for an extremely discriminating and self-confident clientele.
Ladyfingers has been recognized as a destination for presenting internationally recognized designers, icons of the jewelry world, many of whom have their work in major

collections and museums worldwide. Two of their designers, Munsteiner and Kent Raible have work in permanent exhibitions in the Smithsonian. Their gallery has received the award for top designer of the year from the Contemporary Design Group, voted one of the top 25 designer galleries by Lustre Magazine and has received consecutive designer retailer of the year awards from the JCK. They have been mentioned in major publications such as Departures Magazine, LA Style, Best Places in California, as well as Yahoos travel website.
If you are a seeker of the unusual, this award winning gallery should not be missed; visit Ladyfingers, on Dolores between Ocean and 7th, Carmel. Steve and Elaine Kaufman together with their expertly trained staff are dedicated to providing a unique shopping experience with outstanding customer service.

Returning to the Monterey County Fair and Events Center for the
second year, the Castroville Artichoke Food and Wine Festival is looking forward to even bigger and better happenings to honor the food designated Californias and Monterey Countys Official Vegetable. Such royalty deserves only the best and after last years successful event at the fairgrounds, festival organizers are planning for more events, food, entertainment, and vendors. Because of last years record breaking attendance, the festival is expanding the site, allowing for freer flow of people and more spots to relax and enjoy the entertainment. In addition to the acts and bands scheduled for the main stage, there will be concerts in the arena both afternoons.
Food is the main attraction at this years festival; artichokes boiled, grilled, fried, sautéed, stuffed in a tamale, burrito or ravioli and served over pasta, chicken and tri-tip. Backing up the entrée will be gourmet food trucks and those gotta-have fair foods. For those with a thirst there are pavilions for wine tasting, micro-brew tasting , and tequila tasting as well as smoothies and the latest in juicing. Cooking demonstrations by local celebrity chefs, including Tony Baker from Montrio, Todd Fischer of Tarpys, Dion Foster of

Hahn Winery, Adrienne Meiner of Healthy Eating fame, and KGOs Ryan Scott are scheduled to heat up their stoves. Fantastic artichoke artworks made on site Saturday will vie for prizes and the ever popular artichoke eating contest and a harvesting contest will be held Saturday and Sunday. For the fun of it, take a field tour and pick your own as well as taking fabulous selfies in the artichoke patch. A farmers market, sponsored principally by Ocean Mist Farms, the largest grower of artichokes in California, will be open and Priced to sell! On Saturday Chris Janson, Dallas Smith and High Valley will fill the arena with country music and on Sunday, Louie and the Lovers, the Texas Tornados and Banda S-7 will perform Tex-Mex. For the kids there will be water walking and games galore.

One of the most pleasurable and important experiences at Weber Goldsmith Gallery
is the opportunity to interact with owner/designer Bradley D. Weber himself. As our world becomes more impersonal it is notable that the personal touch is what sets Brad apart from the pack. It is the combination of old world approachability and cutting edge design elements that create the pleasing blend that is WGG.
Brad has over 30 years experience in the custom jewelry design world and the reputation to prove it. He has received many International Spectrum design awards, the jewelry industries Oscars. One of which, Neptune’s Birth, is on permanent display at GIA’s headquarters and was honored by being the featured piece for their poster, promoting the Year of the Pearl and distributed globally.
The clearly evident strong suit of Brad and WGG is in custom creations. Be it a completely new custom piece or a re-design of beloved heirloom jewelry, Brad is the one who excels in creating the exact piece one has in mind. Christine, his store manager of 11 years, often says that this compilation of information, from concept to fruition, is truly Brad’s forte.
In keeping up with technological growth, Weber’s has added the CAD/CAM skills of Rob Officer, his on premises Master Goldsmith and Graduate Gemologist. Together they posses all the tools and techniques necessary to hand craft or mill
each custom masterpiece in the on-site shop. In addition to crafting new pieces, WGG also has an astonishing collection of Brad’s designs for sale in the gallery.
Carmel is well known as an historical artists enclave, however all that notoriety comes at a cost. Brad consciously chose The Crossroads shopping village, just south of downtown Carmel on Highway One as the location for his spacious showroom and goldsmith shop. The Crossroads enables both the local residents and out of town guests to enjoy a more relaxed and personal shopping experience with an additional artistic flair. You will be inspired by Weber Goldsmith Gallery.

Our Mission exemplifies the rich cultural and historical heritage of
California. The Carmel Mission Basilica was the 2nd mission founded by Blessed Junipero Serra. Blessed Serra made Carmel his home and his headquarters for the founding of his 9 missions. The Carmel Mission recently underwent a seismic retrofit and renovation. The original beauty and splendor or the Basilica is now on display along with it four other museums. A must see during your visit to the Central Coast.
Carmel Mission’s Junipero Serra SchoolCarrying on with Blessed Serra’s passion for eduction, the Mission’s Junipero Serra Pre-K through 8th grade School offers children a strong academic curriculum rooted in the teachings of the Gospel and presented in a loving an nurturing environment. Our area’s military families are also encouraged to stop in an meet our staff and tour our facilities. Contact Mary Ellen Ryan at (831-624-8322 or [email protected].
