Practice Critical for learning
to play the game safely the rules and skillls of the game To show teammates that you respect them and their
commitment to the team Rugby is a team sport,
More than almost any other sport, there is no way to win a game with only one good person
everyone must work together If you are at practice you will play. Practice times – (for discussion)
Monday - Thursday 3:30 -5:00p, We will ALWAYS practice regardless of weather. It
might be in the weight room, or chalk talks/films. Parents are welcome at practice (come run
with us)
RUGBYParents – So our little girl (boy) wants to
play rugby. DON’T PANICRugby is a wonderful game, with a rich tradition around
the world. It is the second most popular sport in the world. Throughout the world people play rugby from grade school through adulthood. In fact, rugby is truly a "Life Sport" because, unlike many American sports, legions of players continue to participate in the Rugby game long after they leave school. Players continue playing competitive rugby for years and years by joining local women's or men's adult clubs. Senior Clubs even have Masters teams composed of players over 35 years of age!
But I’m just….
Too small - Poppycock –the smaller you are, the lower you can get (and the faster you will run!)
Too slow – We have just the spot for you.Too big – Not a chance this is an excuseNot athletic – We’ll change that, you have
just been trying the wrong sports all along.
Afraid - That is up to the coaches. Have never played - No one has! But you
must commit to practice.

Welcome to Seattle Vikings Rugby! We are excited to have you as a part of the team. If you have played before, you already know that rugby is one of the most challenging yet rewarding games in the world. With vast opportunity to play, coach or support a team in the future, once you get into Rugby, it can remain a part of your life forever. If this is your first time experiencing the game, our coaching staff of former and current players are USA Rugby certified and ready to teach you the ins and outs of every facet of the game. Rugby's addition to the 2016 Olympic games is a testament to its universal appeal to people all around the globe.
The Seattle Vikings Youth Rugby Club is focused on introducing basic Rugby skills and continuing to develop those skills throughout your years with the team. The experience and knowledge you gain with this team will help you to gain success in Rugby in later levels (Collegiate, Men's leagues, Old Boys...). We practice on Monday and Wednesday afternoons on Seattle's premier Rugby field at Magnusen park. Games are on Fridays or Saturdays each week starting February 20th and running through May. We encourage you to bring your friends and spread the word about Vikings Rugby. All are welcome. Congratulations again on your decision to take up or continue Rugby. We look forward to seeing you out on the pitch!
