March has been action packed. From socials, to con-certs to special Olympics and don’t forget Bingo and Fish Fries. As a special treat we celebrated Father Tim’s 40 years of Priesthood. Over 200 friends and neighbors from San Marco, St Peter’s and all over our Diocese came to our parish hall Sunday March 31 to share in some fine food, drink and some very special company. Our County Commissioner and Police Chief joined the festivities. A great time had by all.

GRAND KNIGHTS MESSAGE FOR APRIL Joe Swaja Grand Knight
I would like to begin by congratulating my Brothers in the Assembly on their very successful Beach Boys Concert, the
event was sold out and all the comments I heard were very complimen-tary. All this with a lot of competition. John Fusco has a winner, good job, John! The attendance and net income of our BINGO games continue to exceed those of last year. The Queen of Hearts remains successfully hidden and the pot has grown to $12,000. Our fish fry’s are not like the good old days, 600+ dinners, but we are doing OK. The customer comments at the door were very positive on the quality of food and service. The Tootsie Roll Drive led by Dan Moll and Steve Vasco was an outstanding success rais-ing over $20,000. The funds have been sent to the Florida K of C Chari-ties. A team of Knights; Mike Helpa, Steve Vasco, Dan Moll, Tom Dussault and Matt Rizzo attended and supported the Special Olympics at Golden Gate high School. The 45th Annual K of C Golf Tournament in memory of SK Joe Fatony PGK/PFN and his wife Pam was a great success, 121 players and over $15,000 net income with donations still being received. I espe-cially want to thank Dennis Pidherny, John Caltabiano and Nancy Dietrick for their leadership and management of the event. And a special thanks to our DD Ben Farnsworth for the guidance and advice which we all needed. And, in addition to the above, the Council led a Men’s Day of Reflection, held a spaghetti dinner for the Sons and Daughters of Erin, supported the St Matthews House dinner, and enjoyed the New Horizons Band at the March Social. Two of our Brothers, Bob Huff and Carlos Garcia received their 3rd De-gree at St. Andrews in Cape Coral. Three Knights received the 1st Degree in Council 6344; Peter Karl, Lou Marinaccio and Jim Cuevas. God Bless Each of You Joe Swaja Grand Knight

Dear Sister Columbiettes:
We are now half-way through the holiest time of the year in the Catholic Calendar. As we reflect on ourselves, repent and focus on self-renewal it is equally important that we as Columbiettes maintain our mission in all that we do…….within our Auxiliary, with the Knights of Columbus and within the Church Community. Our weekly volunteer schedule continues to be busy as well as our Auxiliary responsibilities within the Columbiette structure. The Auxiliary’s agendas for the remaining two Membership Meetings will be devoted to upcoming changes on the Supreme, State and local levels. We will close out the year focusing on thoughtful and constructive development for all while embracing Columbiette protocol and good will. We will also assess our FINANCIAL GIVING for 2018-19. All the hours devoted to preparing and volunteering on site for fundraisers now come to fruition in helping those in need. We will continue to help, pray and support those that need us and we will be blessed for doing so! When I pen this article next month Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter will be behind us. We will have repented; we will be renewed, and our Columbiette Mission and purpose will continue to be in place for us to follow and to support. “To our founders we dedicate ourselves to do God’s work on Earth promoting unity, Christ’s love for each of us, and zeal to serve God through Faith, Hope and Charity.” Eileen L. Recchia, President San Marco Columbiette Auxiliary #6344

Sir Knights and Brothers All, On March 23, 2019, we took a giant step and departed from our usual sit-down dinner event. We scheduled a Beach Boy tribute band concert presented in a theater style setting with only refresh-ments served. The event, as you may have heard, was a major success to a sell out crowd of almost 500 patrons. The concert was a success not only because the band did a fabulous job, the Knights, Columbiettes and wives of the Knights did a magnificent job selling tickets for the bar, 50/50 raffle, and seating and directing the crowd. Think about it? 500 seats and about 497 customers does not give us much mar-gin for error. I can't say enough about the support of fellow Knights, especially when ticket sales started off a little slow, they said it would im-prove and it certainly did. Thanks to all, and there were many, for your help and support. God Bless, Join Fusco Faithful Navigator 239-389-5876 [email protected]
