Editor Note Sensual Summer

Hot, hot, hot, people complain when it is to hot and then complain when it rains. Complaints cannot change anything. It just takes a group of people and turns them into complainers. If we look to the

past there were periods of hot weather and periods of rain, people just adjusted to circumstance and moved forward. Better that we adjust to what is happening now and not worry about something we have no control over.

In this edition of Kon Phuket Magazine we are going to try to solve the problem of heat by having models from Phuket Top Model show off the latest in swimwear at Karon Phunaka Resort and Spa. Maybe the heat will go up after reading this edition? We are pleased to present you with the cool travel and 5 islands around Phuket that should be included in your travel schedule. The romance of sand and sea are a short boat ride from the shores of Phuket

In trying something different, Kon Phuket Magazine is sending our magazine team to work with an accomplished chef at the Karon Phunaka Resort & Spa, Phuket, Chef Somnuk is the culinary ex-pert and with his vast experience brings together European, Thai and local Phuket dishes with panoramic views of the mountains

and ocean. There are few hotels that offer there guests views as stun-ning from their luxurious rooms and the restaurant.

Chef Somnuk invited our team to try our hand at making chicken green curry and Pad Thai. These dishes are among the most popu-lar with hotel guests. Our team is generally more comfortable with keyboards and cell phones, so we rolled up our sleeves and got hard to work! After we thoroughly prepared the ingredients, we started cooking. It didn’t take to long before we started sampling our dishes. Chef Somnuk was very impressed with our hand in the kitchen. It was quite easy for us to impress Chef Somnuk as he insists in using only the highest quality ingredients for his hotel guests. If you are in Phuket , come to Karon Phunaka for lunch or dinner and enjoy the panoramic views.

For tourists who looking for something new, peace-ful and full of untouched nature, Koh Ta Chai is the island awaiting you. Koh Ta Chai is located in the Phang Nga province and is part of the Similan Islands national park. Traveling from Thap Lamu

pier in Phang Nga. The trip is approximately one hour by speed boat, depending on weather. Koh Ta Chai, is an island that recently opened up to tourism. Crystal clear water, beautiful beaches and white sand await you upon landing. As you approach the island the emerald green water reveals the sea life below, it is as if you looking through a glass window.

Koh Ta Chai does not have any hotels but camping is available, just contact the park offi cers to arrange accommodations. Basic bathroom and showering facilities are available.

After lunch you can choose from either snorkeling or diving to the coral reefs. The coral at Ko Ta Chai is incredibly beautiful as it was allowed to recover as part of a restoration project in the Similan Islands. If you decide on a walk in the forest you will be greeted by one of the islands inhabitants, the chicken crab. The chicken crab is a large crab with very big claws. As the claws hit each other they make a clucking sound similar to a chicken giving the crab its name.

The natural beauty of this island is through the efforts of the people who continually maintain Koh Ta Chai. There are few facilities on this island and this is done intentionally to keep Koh Ta Chai as pristine and natural as possible. If you are looking to see pure untouched nature and don’t mind the basic accommodations, Koh Ta Chai will provide you a lifetime memories of one of the worlds most splendid creations.

หลังๆ มาน้ีช่ือเสียงของเกาะ ตาชัย เร่ิมเปนท่ีรูจักของหมูนักทองเท่ียวท่ีชอบความแปลกใหม ความสงบ และความเปนธรรมชาติ ดังนั้นเกาะตาชัยจึงถูกเลือกอยูเสมอๆ เกาะเล็กๆ ในเขตจังหวัดพังงา ซึ่งอยูในเขตของอุทยานแหงชาติ หมูเกาะสิมิลัน ขึ้นเรือที่ทาเทียบเรือทับละมุ พังงา ก็เสนทางไปเขาหลักนั่นแหละครับ นั่งเรือชั่วโมงกวาๆ หรือมากกวานั้นแลวแตสภาพอากาศใครที่ชอบความมันสของการนั่งเรือสปดโบทคงชอบแนๆ เกาะตาชัยนั้นเพิ่งเปดใหนักทองเที่ยวเขาไปสัมผัสไดไมนานจึงมีธรรมชาติที่ยังสวยงาม นําทะเลใส ชายหาดขาว เนียน สวยงามมาก เมื่อเรือเทียบฝงแทบจะกระโดดลงไปในทะเลเลยทีเดียวเพราะ นําสีเขียวมรกตที่ใสมองเห็นปลาวายไปมาอยางกับกระจกยังไงยังงั้น ยิ่งตอนอากาศดีๆ แสงแดดสาดสองลงมากระทบดวยแลวคุณเอย..

K oh - Khai If traveling by boat, Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga prov-inces are all close to each other. Koh Khai or Khai Island is in Phang Nga. This island has many other islands surrounding it such as Koh Khai Nok, Koh Khai Nai, Koh Khai Nui. Koh Khai is approximately 20 minutes from Ao Chalong pier. The water is

so clear you can see small fi sh that swim and eat bread that is thrown onto the water. Koh Khai Nok is an area where guests relax on the beach, snorkel or visit the paradise fi sh. This island is not very large and there are no accommodations available so this island is for the tourist that would like to make a day trip. Koh Khai is a popular stop-ping point for those that are traveling to and from Koh Phi Phi. Kon Phuket magazine edition 20 : Sensual Summer, shooting at the Karon Phunaka Resort and Spa our models will be featuring sexy swimwear from the Katalina Collection. The Karon Phunaka Resort and Spa with its striking design descending the ridge with rooms overlooking the sea is new to the Karon views cape. We could

not have picked a better day for a swimsuit shoot as it was one of the hottest days of the season. Since the models were dressed for the weather they remained comfortable, unfortunately the magazine team had to bear the brunt of the hot weather. With models from Phuket Top Model; P’ Aum, Nong Mai, Nong Boom and our patient photografter we got all the photos needed for this edition. The fi rst set began by shooting around the hotel. With many beautiful areas and corners our team and models were kept busy. For the second set we moved indoors to the hotel rooms for more sexy shots. Finally to cool things off a little we ended the day shooting in and around the swimming pool. Our models enjoyed the chance to play in the water and break away from the heat. We would like to thank the management and staff at the Karon Phunaka Resort and Spa for providing the fabulous venue, Phuket Top Model and all those that assisted us throughout the day.

มหัศจรรยยามคําคืนพรอมโชวสุดตระการตา ที่สยามนิรมิต ภูเก็ต และแลวความอลังการของสยามนิรมิตก็บังเกิดขึ้นที่ภูเก็ต นับเปนอีกหนึ่งสถานที่ทองเที่ยวที่สุดยอดอีกแหงหนึ่ง หากทานไดมีโอกาสไดเขาไปชมการแสดงจะเห็นถึงความตั้งใจและเกิดความรูสึกภาคภูมิใจในชาติของเรา เพราะสยามนิรมิตไดบรรจงสรางและไดคัดสรรและดึงจุดเดนของคนไทยในทุกภาคออกมาไดอยางชัดเจนจนไมตองดูหรือฟงคําบรรยายใดๆเลย ยามเย็นหลังจากที่ไดจองตั๋วแลวก็เขาไปเดินเลนชมบรรยากาศที่ไดจําลองจนเหมือนจริงสุดๆของหมูบานไทยในแตละภาค ทั้งภาคเหนือ กลาง อีสาน และใต มี การแสดงวิถีชีวิตของคนไทยทั้งอาหารการกิน ความเปนอยู นักทองเที่ยวสามารถรวมเปนสวนหนึ่งของวัฒนธรรมไทยไดดวยทําขนม ชิมอาหาร แบบโบราณดั้งเดิม การออกแบบทําไดลงตัวมากกับพื้นที่ 57 ไร ลงทุนไปก็ประมาณ 2 พันลานบาท บริเวณถนนเฉลิมพระเกียรติฯ ร.9 ไดเวลาโชวแลวนักทองเที่ยวตื่นตาตื่นใจกับฉากตางๆที่ออกแบบไดสวยงามและสมจริง ดนตรี และการแสดงลงตัวมากๆ นั่งชมไปเวลา เกือบสองชั่วโมงหายแวบไปทันทียังหาขอติไมไดเลย สยามนิรมิตภูเก็ต ไดเกิดขึ้นและกอใหเกิดแหลงทองเที่ยวที่มนุษยสรางขึ้นอีกแหงที่สามารถดึงดูดนักทองเที่ยวและสรางงานสรางรายไดใหกับจังหวัดภูเก็ต หากวันนี้ทานยังไมไดเขาไปสัมผัสขอแนะนําวารีบดวนเลย เพราะนี่คือ ที่ที่จะสะทอนทุกความเปนไทยในตัวคุณออกมา สยามนิรมิต ภูเก็ต

While doing the fashion element of Kon Phuket Magazine we always have the opportunity of working with professional makeup artists. Each artist is unique in his/her abilities

and style. In several recent editions, the work of Lisa Allen has graced our pages. Her attention to detail in various types of makeup style and artistry revealed the vast amount of experience she has to offer.

It was evident from the fi rst moment we met Lisa that this beautiful English woman truly found her calling in life. With her cheerful and friendly attitude and extreme fl exibility in her work, Lisa effortlessly applies her craft. No detail goes unchecked, after consulting with the team on the concept of the shoot, Lisa goes over the clothing and then the characteristics of the model before hair and makeup are set in motion.

At the end of our shoot we had the chance to sit down and talk with Lisa. Her love of makeup artistry began at the age of 6 when she fi rst secretly took her mother’s lipstick, a colour called “Under the Sun” from the BOOTS the chemist No.17 range and tried applying it. While growing up she loved to read fashion magazines and would use her own face to copy makeup styles of models and artists she admired. After enrolling in an Arts and Performance Program, Lisa set her life goals to becoming a professional makeup artist.

In 1997, during a stint at the B.B.C, Lisa met a profes-sional makeup artist that had worked with Celine Dion and The Bee Gee’s. It was this meeting that inspired Lisa to follow her dream. Shortly thereafter she resigned from her position to learn make-up seriously and enrolled with Brushstrokes Makeup & Hair School at Shepperton Studios. After graduation, she began her work as a free-lancer and had the opportunity to work with England’s well known television channels the B.B.C and Channel 5

In 2001, Lisa relocated to Phuket and started her own makeup and hair artistry business. Success came quietly but surely and Lisa found herself doing work in fashion shows, magazines, special effects, bridal hair and make-up. In the past 10 years Lisa has seen over 500 brides come under her care; every bride entered her studio as a blank canvas and emerged as a masterpiece of beauty. Lisa’s’ work has been featured in many magazines, most notably Marie Claire. Looking to the future Lisa is hoping to have her own cosmetics line.

When we asked her advice to others who dream in the fashion business, Lisa says “If you love what you do, the bridge between dreams and reality is a short one”.

ในการถายแบบแฟชั่นเพื่อลงนิตยสารคนภูเก็จ แตละเลมนั้น ไดมีโอกาสรวมงานกับชางแตงหนาทําผมมาแลวหลายคน ซึ่งแตละคนก็มีเอกลักษณมีความสามารถที่แตกตางกัน สําหรับคนที่เราจะแนะนํากันในฉบับนี้ เธอมีความสามารถในการแตงหนาที่หลากหลายและสรางความประทับใจใหเราดวยความเอาใจใสในทุกๆ รายละเอียด ครั้งแรกที่ไดพบกับ Lisa Allen ชางแตงหนาสาวสวยจากเกาะอังกฤษก็สัมผัสไดถึงความเปนมืออาชีพ ดวยความที่เธอเปนคนสดใสราเริงและเปนกันเอง ทําใหการทํางานมีความคลองตัวเปนอยางมาก Lisa จะใสใจในทุกรายละเอียดตั้งแตคอนเซปตของงาน เสื้อผาเครื่องแตงกาย ตลอดจนลักษณะของนางแบบ เพื่อถายทอดสีสันและรูปแบบทรงผมในสไตลของเธอใหสอดคลองกับคอนเซปตและความตองการของทีมงาน หลังจากการถายทําไดมีโอกาสพูดคุยถึงเสนทางการเปนชางแตงหนาทําผมของเธอ Lisa เลาใหฟงวาเธอมีความสนใจเรื่องของศิลปะ และความสวยความงามมาตั้งแตเด็กๆ เมื่อตอน 6 ขวบ เคยแอบรื้อกระเปาเครื่องสําอางของคุณแมหยิบเอาลิปสติกสีสมเบอร 17 ซึ่งยังมีขายอยูที่รานบูทส มาทา เมื่อโตขึ้นมาหนอยก็มักจะชอบดูนิตยสารแฟชั่น และทดลองแตงหนาในหลายๆสไตล จนเมื่อไดเขาเรียนในสาขาศิลปะและการแสดงก็ทําใหเธอตั้งเปาหมายในชีวิตวาเธอจะตองเปนชางแตงหนาระดับมืออาชีพใหได Lisa ไดเขามาทํางานที่ B.B.C ชวงป 2540 และท่ีน่ีเองเธอไดพบกับชางแตงหนาของ Celine Dion และ The Bee Gee ซึ่งเปนแรงผลักดันใหเธอไดทําสิ่งที่ฝน เธอลาออกจากงานที่ทําอยู ทุมเงิน เวลา และความตั้งใจไปกับการเรียนแตงหนาทําผมอยางจริงจังกับ Brushstrokes

Makeup & Hair School ที่ Shepperton Studios หลังจากเรียนจบก็ไดเริ่มรับงาน Freelance และไดมีโอกาสรวมงานกับสถานีโทรทัศนชื่อดัง B.B.C และ Channel 5 เมื่อป 2001 เธอยายมาที่ภูเก็ต ไดเปดตัวธุรกิจทางดานการแตงหนาทําผมเปนของตัวเองใหบริการแตงหนาทําผมในทุกสไตล ไมวาจะเปนแฟชั่นโชว, ถายแบบ, สเปเชี่ยล-เอฟเฟค และแตงหนาทําผมเจาสาว ซึ่งตลอดระยะเวลากวา 10 ปที่ผานมา มีเจาสาวกวา 500 คนที่เธอไดเนรมิตใหสวยสมใจ นอกจากนี้ผลงานของเธอยังไดลงนิตยสารหลายๆ เลมรวมทั้ง Marie Claire ในอนาคตเธออยากมีแบรนดเครื่องสําอางเปนของตัวเอง เธอเชื่อวา “ถาคุณสามารถฝนได มันก็ไมยากที่จะเปนอยางที่ฝน” หากคุณกําลังมองหาชางแตงหนาทําผมมืออาชีพที่เอาใจใสในทุกรายละเอียด รับรองวาคุณจะไมผิดหวังหากไดรวมงานกับเธอ Lisa Allen
