Learning Happens in Many Ways(학습은 여러 방법으로 가능합니다!)
오랫동안 학교는, 학생 행사나 지역사회 행사를 정규 교육과정 외의 영역으로서 영향력을 가지므로, 학습과 무관한 듯 언급해 왔습니다. 그러나 저는 이 생각에 동의하지 않습니다. 제가 느끼기에는 교육에 있어, 공연 행사뿐만 아니라 다양한 행사에 참여해 보는 경험을 통해서도 매우 의미있고, 심오하며 오래 기억에 남는 교육이 되는 것 같습니다.
하여, 우리 학생들과 교사들은 베이징에서 개최된 ISTA (International Schools Theatre Association)에 참여했었고, 교사와 임직원들도 ACAMIS Conference 에 다녀왔으며, 상하이에서 개최된 NEAMC (North East Asia Mathematics Competition, 수영대회에도 참가하였고, 교내에서는’Pirates of the Curry Bean’과, Think, Act, Speak 행사(300명이 넘는 주변 지역으로부터의 참가자), MYP 10학년의 Personal Process Project exhibition이 주관되었으며, 상하이에서 있을 배드민턴 대회나 그 밖의 많은 스포츠 들을 학기 전과 현재까지 준비하고 있습니다. 이것이 저에게는 ‘extra(교과외의)’ 라는 의미로 다가오지 않고, 매우 중요한 핵심으로 여겨집니다. 저희 학교의 학생들은 매우 높은 참여율을 보여주고 있고, 실제로 ACAMIS Cultural events에는 주변의 어느 학교보다 높은 참여율을 보였습니다. 이것이 바로 학습이며 개인이 그 열정을 표현하고 즐거운 도전을 경험해 볼 수 있는 건강한 삶의 표현인 것입니다.

학부모님들께, Nanjing International School(난징 국제 학교)는 2016/2017년도 1학기 등록금 고지서는 3월 15일에 발부합니다. 지불을 학부모님들이 하신다는 가정하에, 모든 학부모님들께 이메일로 고지서를 PDF파일로 보내드릴 예정입니다.
2016/17 년도 재학을 보장하는 최소 보증금은 RMB 25,000입니다. 이 금액은 4월 15일까지 반드시 납부하셔야 합니다. 나머지 등록금 점액은 5월 31일까지 납부바랍니다. 만일 NIS를 떠나시는 경우, 6월 13일까지 입학처로 서면 통보 주시는 경우, 등록금은 전액 환불 가능합니다. 서면 통지는 아래 이메일을 이용하시면 됩니다: [email protected] 이 기한이 지난 경우, 보증금 환불은 불가능합니다. 위의 사안을 회사의 회계 및 총무부에 연락하시어 기한 내에 처리해 주시기 바랍니다 .
3월 15일 이후에는 veracross 에서 여러분 자녀들의 등록금 고지서를 아래와 같은 절차로 열람 가능하십니다:
1.Log into the Parent Portal 2.Click "My Invoice" to view the Billing Account Page 3.Click "View " to view and "Print to PDF" to print the invoice

전출 과정1.난징을 떠나는 것이 정해지는 대로 [email protected] 에 영문으로 이메일 주시기 바랍니다. 떠나신다는 확정 메시지와 마지막 등교일, 학년, 반, 이름을 보내주시기 바랍니다..
2.안내데스크에서 Clearance Form (전학신청서)를 수령하십시오.3.전학신청서를 완성해 주세요 PYP학생은 담임선생님의 도움을 받을 수 있고, MYP와 DP학생들은 학생들이 직접 작성합니다.
4.작성을 완료한 전학신청서 복사본을 2층 Cashier에 제출하시면 입학시 납부하였던 도서관 보증금을 받게 됩니다.
5.등교 마지막 날, 안내 데스크에 학부모님과 학생카드 그리고 전학 신청서를 제출하면 전학서류를 받게됩니다.
6. 여러분 자녀들의 생활기록부를 Veracross에서 다운로드 받아놓으시기 바랍니다.

INAUGURAL INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION AT NIS
On Tuesday, more than a two dozen women of all nationalities and backgrounds gathered in the school cafeteria to celebrate International Women’s Day. Not only did all these women show up to support the event, but they brought delicious baked goods, too. Brenda Bergeron, who has lived in China for 14 years, volunteered to share her story of how she wants to save the world by doing what she can do. Her speech was inspiring and motivating, and touched many kind hearts. Brenda and Olivia, her partner, work around Nanjing, helping women who aren’t usually respected to be heard. Brenda taught us that if we want to save the world we just have to be ourselves.

Grades 2 to 5 Production
The grades two to five students put on a fantastic show on Friday 4th March. They
were expressive, energetic and enthusiastic throughout their time on stage and showed
the audience what amazing talent we have at NIS. I am extremely proud of all of the
students that were involved.
I would also like to thank the NIS community who were so supportive throughout the
production process.
Now, roll on the Early Years Production on the 18th May!

SCISAC Senior Boy’s Volleyball
Congratulations to Luke, Sean, Blake, Marvin, Ati, Erik, Ato, Jan Lukas and Oliver for winning the SCISAC Volleyball competition. The team participated against 5 other teams at the SCISAC tournament at Xiamen International School from 25th - 28th February 2016. It was the first time that NIS has competed in the SCISAC volleyball competition. The boys played fantastically and were the undefeated champions.They proudly represented NIS by demonstrating excellent sportsmanship and great teamwork. Well done to Luke and Sean who were chosen by their team mates to receive the Most Valued Player trophies. The boys were a very coachable group, and their skills and use of strategic play was reflected in a triumphant win.

The yoga session will be on Wednesday the 16th March from 4:30 - 5:30 on the 3rd floor, of the centre in the large dance studio.
Do you know an uptight stressed out adult in your life that would benefit from an hour of yoga?
1 Nominate an adult to participate in a one hour yoga session.
2 Individually or collectively you must raise 100RMB to sponsor the participant.
3 If the nominated adult does not wish to participate it is then suggested that they donate 200 RMB to opt out.
4 The yoga session will be fun and differentiated for all levels of flexibility.
5 Money to be collected by Paul Underwood and Neila Steele
All proceeds will be donated to Ray of Light Cambodia.
