oorledene, het die voorval op 1 Mei tussen18:00 en 19:00 plaasgevind.“My broer het ’n kers langs sy bed opge-

steek en het vermoedelik kort daarna aan dieslaap geraak. Die kers het geval op die kom-bers waaronder hy gelê het. Toe hy die hittevoel, het hy die kombers op die grond gegooiwaar dit dadelik in vlamme uitgebars het.”’n Tweede man, Ruiters Goede, wat in die

Together these selfless women, called byGod to serve in the capacity of mother for alarge family, are making a difference onechild at a time.Some have even left their home country

and own children to serve and love theless fortunatechildren in JeffreysBay. They are thewonderful womenat the JoshuaProject situated inPellsrus. Thesewomen are ErnaTolkamp, SherleyFortune, HermienPrins, Hantie Bam,Margie Hoskins,Durma Loubser andMichelle Dorfling.According to

Dorfling, founder of Joshua Project andone of seven mothers at this organisation,over the years they have all come tounderstand the enormous responsibility ofraising their own children. “This is whatdrew us all to serve and support the 50 to60 vulnerable children who daily come toJoshua Project,” said Dorfling.“Being involved in Joshua Project for the

last 13 years and being the mother of onebeautiful 5 year old, Ezra, I have learned thatit is impossible for only one mother - no mat-ter how big her heart may be - to ‘mother’ allthese children who come, because they longfor the attention and positive input they re-ceive at Joshua Project.”Dorfling said it is definitely not easy to

somehow feel responsible for the well-beingof the children, but they believe that Godcares for them and that He allows them to beHis instruments in caring for the children.

According to her the important lesson theyhave learned is to recognise their part andGod’s part in serving the children, and thatno positive input into the lives of the childrenis ever in vain.“What drives all us mothers at Joshua

THE Longmore Forests will come alivewith motor sport rally action on May11, 2013, when national and local rally

cars will take advantage of this event by com-peting in the second round of the 50k AlgoaRally Championship, particularly the Long-more Forest stages, starting at the Ocean Bas-ket in Uitenhage at 9am with scrutineeringand documentation.

The first gravel stage will be run at Jagt-

vlakte for the benefit of the Uitenhage sup-porters, entering from the old power stationroad, then proceeding to the next few stagesin the Longmore Forests from the Hankeyturn-off.

National competitors and reigning SA Ral-ly Champions, Mark Cronje and RobinHoughton, driving a Ford S200, are expectedto lead the field of 30 vehicles that will use thisevent as a pre-National test session.

This will also include the Volkswagen Sasol

Racing team of Enzo Kuun, Hergen Fekkenand Henk Lategan, with Team Castrol ToyotaJohnny Gemmel and Leeroy Poulter and na-vigators.

Local National competitors, Morné JanseVan Rensburg and navigator Rikus Fourie,will use this event as home town advantage,as well as Bryan and Andrew Heine, RikusSmit, Ross Bartle and Neels Vosloo drivingNissans, Toyotas and VW Polos.

Local competitors stand an equal chance of

winning the annual championship scoringpoints in their classes for first, second andthird in class. This rally has unique qualitieswith the latest national rally vehicles compet-ing with older models.

The rally will end in the Longmore forestsat around 4pm and the National competitorswill return home hoping to have vehicle setup and seat time for the next National rally,which is the Volkswagen National Rally heldin PE and surrounds on the July 19-20,
