Students will acquire and begin to use sources of information, processes and strategies to identify, form and express ideas. Students will recognise that
texts are shaped for different purposes and audiences. Students will recognise and identify ideas within and across texts, recognise and begin to
understand how language features are used for effect within and across texts and recognise and begin to understand text structures. Continue toreinforce expectations. Phonics will be a part of the reading/writing programme.

texts are shaped for different purposes and audiences. Form and express ideas on a range of topics, use language features, showing some recognition of
their effects and organise texts using simple structures. Recounts - draw on personal background, knowledge and experience. Retell simple stories.
Develop and convey personal voice and support ideas with some detail. Model - plan - draft - read - edit - conference - publish. Spelling - essential lists 1
and 2. Handwriting - Magic Caterpillar handwriting process to be followed. Letters practised are chosen from phonics programme/ on a formation basis
or on a needs basis.
Year 0/1 - measurement - time - 2 weeks. 8 weeks - number/algebra includes problem solving, mult/div from Stage 3 and fractions.Year 2 - Geometry 2D and 3D shapes - 2 weeks. 8 weeks - number/algebra includes problem solving, mult/div from stage 3 and fractions.
Sharing our Planet - 10 ways to save the planet - focus interacting systems. Describe how natural features are changed and resources affected by
natural events and human actions.
PK and C & I. Drawing and painting - continue to build on skills taught in Term 1. Printmaking - introduce e.g. PVA prints, leaf rubbings, frottage, indent
prints, paint prints etc.
Maori myths and legends, Matariki - legends and celebration, waiata, counting to 10 & 20, classroom commands. Continue greetings and farewells.
Incorporate Maori views on the environment in Sharing our Planet study.
