Taong 2001, may isang kabataang hindi nangiming magsalita laban sa panloloko at 

pandarambong sa ROTC.  

Siya si Mark Welson Chua.

Hindi natakot si Mark kahit pa maybanta sa kanyang buhay.

Pero hindi n’ya inakalang kamatayan ang kahihinatnan ng kanyang pagsisiwalat ng 

katotohanan.

Isang araw, natagpuan ang lumulutang na bangkay ni Mark 

sa maitim at maburak na Ilog Pasig.

Para sa kanyang katapangan, buhay ang naging kapalit.

Pero hindi nagtapos ang laban ni Mark!

Sa halip ay nagkaroon ng panawagan ng  katarungan sa kanyang pagkamatay.

At umalingaw­ngaw ang panawagan ng pagbabago sa ROTC.

Tunay na naging makabuluhan ang pagbu­buwis ng buhay ni Mark.

Napatawan ng kaukulang parusa ang mga kumitil sa kanyang buhay.

At hanggang ngayon, patuloy na buhay ang kanyang kwento.

Si Mark ay nasa inyo, nasa atin, nasa mga klase, nasa mga pamayanan.

Siya ay nasa mag­aaral na pumupunta sa pamayanan, 

nasa pamilyang tumatanggap ng estudyante sa kanilang tahanan, 

nasa batang natutong sumulat, 

nasa Dumagat na umiinom ng malinis na tubig, 

nasa punong itinatanim, dinidiligan at yumayabong.

Hangga’t may mga kabataan at pamayanang nagsasama­sama para sa katotohanan at pagbabago, patuloy na mabubuhay ang 

kwento ni Mark.

Hindi tayo makakalimot.
