Shared�  joy�  is�  a�  double�  joy!

今回の高野団地再編計画にあたって、団地

を大きな一つのボリュームとして団地を再

編することを考えた。そのため、平面的に

は従来の団地よりもかなり高密度なものに

見えるかもしれない。また、５種類のユニッ

トプランがあり、それらは異なるベクトル

を持っている。そのことによって、必ずし

も南向きで日当りのよいバルコニーは得ら

れないが、隣に人が住んでいるということ

が嫌でも感じられる。従来の集合住宅は、

住戸が同じ向きを向いており、共用廊下な

どのパブリックスペースを経て一度自分の

部屋に入ってしまえば全く外部をシャット

アウトすることが可能だ。それは、プライ

バシーが声高に叫ばれる時代においては当

然のことかもしれない。しかし、この計画

ではあえて完全に一つのユニットで住戸と

して完結することを目指さなかった。団地

という「住」のための装置を、団地に住む

すべての人々とシェアしている。そんな感

覚を持てるような団地を目指した。

核家族化が進み、少子高齢化が顕著になり、

個人のライフスタイルも多様化する中で、

本当は、家族の中だけで、自分の家の中だ

けで生活を完結させる必要なんてないし、

プライバシーだって必要最低限守られてい

れば十分なんじゃないだろうか。

集まって住むのなら、そのことを窮屈に思

うのではなく、楽しめばいいんだと思う。

I�  had�  reconsideration�  about�  

multi-­‐unit�  apartments.�  Typical�  

one�  in�  Japan�  is�  composed�  of�  

some�  small�  apartments,�  and�  has�  

some�  yards�  just�  in�  ground�  

level.�  But�  in�  this�  project,�  

the�  apartment�  is�  made�  as�  a�  one�  

volume�  including�  some�  yards�  in�  

the�  various�  levels.�  

And�  it�  has�  five�  different�  

types�  of�  unit�  plan�  that�  have�  

different�  directions.�  It�  means�  

that�  every�  window�  is�  not�  

facing�  south,�  but�  you�  can�  face�  

the�  sign�  of�  life.�  In�  typical�  

apartment,�  the�  entire�  dwelling�  

unit�  has�  same�  direction,�  and�  

when�  we�  are�  in�  the�  own�  unit�  we�  

couldn’ t�  feel�  the�  

neighborhood.�  It�  is�  very�  

normal�  way�  as�  privacy�  

protection.�  But�  I�  think�  we�  

could�  more�  enjoy�  sharing�  

apartment.�  So�  in�  this�  project�  

the�  dwelling�  unit�  itself�  is�  

uncompleted,�  and�  it�  could�  be�  

used�  in�  the�  apartment’ s�  

whole.�

窓のたくさん開いた外壁＝スキンに、住

戸の集合体が包まれている。

スキンは、窓やテラスの多い開放的な各

住戸を外部の視線から守る視覚的シェル

ターであり、スキン自体にも開口を取っ

たことで、住戸の窓から外を眺めるとき

には外の風景を切り取る額縁ともなる。

また、外からアパートを眺めるときには、

その奥に小さな世界があることを期待さ

せるような、そんな外観を目指した。

dwelling�  unit�  against�  

somebody's�  eye�  from�  out�  of�  

apartment.�  And�  windows�  can�  

be�  picture�  frame�  when�  you�  

view�  outside�  from�  your�  

room.

住戸間に設けられたヴォイドに加

えて上階へ上がるごとに住戸を抜

いていき、そこへ屋上緑化を行い

緑のテラスを設けた。

２階、３階と上がるうちに、アパー

トの中に庭が増えていく。

アパートの外に出るまでに、自分

の部屋の延長のような庭がある。

都市に出るまでの、親密な屋外空

間。

The�  apartment�  has�  some�  yards.�  In�  

addition�  to�  the�  ground�  floor,�  

there�  is�  some�  roof�  garden�  each�  

floor.�  So�  you�  going�  up,�  you�  will�  

find�  more�  yard�  than�  ground�  

floor.

The�  yard�  is�  like�  another�  your�  

living�  room.

It�  is�  intimate�  outdoor�  space�  

between�  your�  room�  and�  your�  city.

Your�  room�  …your�  apartment�  …your�  

city

Your�  world�  is�  extending�  

gradually.

Public�  space�  in�  the�  apartment

I�  designed�  some�  wood�  terraces�  and�  roof�  

gardens�  around�  the�  public�  staircase�  

and�  passage.�  It�  could�  be�  used�  as�  

public�  space�  in�  the�  apartment.�  I�  

imagined�  that�  people�  happen�  to�  meet�  at�  

staircase�  and�  spend�  some�  time�  at�  the�  

terraces.�  It�  helps�  inhabitants�  having�  

communication.

And�  the�  apartment�  also�  has�  an�  assembly�  

room�  with�  a�  kitchen�  and�  sofa.�  It�  is�  

for�  nothing�  special.�  It�  is�  just�  

another�  living�  room�  for�  all�  

inhabitants.

Typical�  multi-­‐unit�  apartments�  in�  Japan�  are�  

composed�  of�  some�  small�  apartments,�  having�  

some�  yards�  in�  ground�  level�  between�  each�  

building.�  It�  is�  way�  of�  using�  site�  

lavishly,�  and�  has�  kind�  of�  beautiful�  mood.�  

But�  I�  think�  that�  it�  is�  not�  the�  way�  of�  

enjoying�  living�  in�  gathering�  in�  apartment.

We�  can�  enjoy�  living�  in�  apartment�  feeling�  

the�  other�  inhabitants.

パブリックスペースの計画

所要室として求められていた、集会室以外にパ

ブリックスペースとして特別に空間を与えるこ

とはしなかった。その代わりに、自然な人の溜

まりが想像されやすい共用廊下に面した階段室

の周囲に、木製のテラスと空中庭園を設け、自

然に人が集まるパブリックスペースとして想定

した。そして、また、それらと呼応するような

外部に面した集会室がある。集会室は大きな空

間にキッチンがあるだけで、特に機能はない。

それでいて何にでも使えそうな予感のする空間

になっている。何にも使わないときは、そこに

あるソファに座ってテレビでも見ていればいい。

自分の家のリビングがもう一つある。そういう

感覚で集会室はあればいいと思う。

従来の団地は分棟型で、各棟の間をゆったりとっ

て建っている。それは贅沢な空間ではあるが、「集

まって住む」ということを楽しめていない。

意外なところから、ふとした抜けから、ご近所

さんの気配が感じられる。

タテの抜け、ヨコの抜け、つながるつながる。

ご近所さんが増えていく。

４階のテラスでおじいさんたちが、

「健康のために太極拳を始めたいな。」

という話になりました。

団地の人々に呼びかけて、集会室の

前の大きなテラスで太極拳教室が行

われるようになりました。

At�  the�  4th�  floor�  terrace,�  some�  

old�  men�  are�  chatting.�  “�  Let’ s�  

try�  tai�  chi�  for�  our�  health.”

They�  called�  for�  other�  

inhabitants.�  After�  a�  while�  tai�  

chi�  school�  was�  held�  at�  the�  

assembly�  terrace�  in�  front�  of�  

the�  assembly�  room.

くり返したりしながら、アパート全

体のプランを構成しました。
