WHAT IS SAMA SAMA?
Sama Sama (which means “ Come Together” in Tagalog) isis the youth empowerment program of the Filipino Migrant Center (FMC) based in Long Beach and Carson. Through the Sama Sama program, youth from different cities unite to learn about Filipino culture, arts, history and our common struggles.
They learn to use their talents and energy to educate the community and work for social justice here and in the Philippines. Tonight’s Pilipino Cultural Night (PCN) is the culmination of our seven week summer program, which portrays the lives of Filipinos living in Long Beach and Carson from the youth’s perspective.
