Articulated Agreement
Metropolitan State Universi!y: Individualized Degree EA.Lake Superior College: Individualized Diploma, A.A.S. Degree, A.S. Degree
This agreement has been entered into by Metropolitan State University's First College and Lake Superior College,for the benefit of students completing the Individualized Diploma, Individualized A.A.S. degree, and Individual-
ized degree at Lake Super ior College, to pursue an Individualized Bachelor ofArts degree at Metropolitan
State University.
ProgramArticulation
1. Metropolitan State University's First College will accept all program and general education credits for
the Individualized Studies A.S. degree, Individualized Studies A.A.S. degree and the Individualized Di-
ploma at Lake Superior College, provided these credits are used toward an Individualized Bachelor of
Arts degree.
2. For graduation, Individualized degree program students will need to complete:
a. a totalof
120 semester credits;b. at least 40 upper division credits, including eight upper division credits of
liberal studies course work; and
c. at least 30 semester credits while at Metropolitan State University.

Program Requirements:

1100 Individualized Academic and Career Planning - 1 cr.CIS 1400 Introduction to Computers - 2 cr.
Career Focus Courses - 42 cr.

Students will complete 42 program credits with an approved degree plan and focus designed to fit their career
goals. Career focus courses will emphasize one to three career programs, with a minimum of 12 credits in one
career area. The award may include Lake Superior College courses, Credit for Prior Learning, or courses
transferred from another college.
Total Program: 45 Credits
Transfer of credits to Metropolitan State University will be accepted as follows:
• 45 maximum credits from the program requirements to be included in the First College individualized
degree plan focus area.
• Total accepted in transfer for the Individualized Diploma is 45 credits.
Individualized A.A.S. Degree
Program Requirements:
PU 1100 Individualized Academic and Career Planning - 1 cr.
CIS 1400 Introduction to Computers - 2 cr.
Career Focus Courses - 42 cr.
Students will complete 42 program credits with an approved degree plan and focus designed to fit their career
goals. Career focus courses will emphasize one to three career programs, with a minimum of 12 credits in one
career area. The award may include Lake Superior courses, Credit for Prior Learning, or courses transferred
from another college.
General Education Requirements:
General Education courses chosen from 3 of the 10 MuTC goal areas -15 cr.
Transfer of credits to Metropolitan State University - First College will be accepted as follows:
• 45 maximum credits from the program requirements to be included in the First College individualized
degree plan focus area.
• 15 general education credits.
• Total accepted in transfer for the Individualized A.A.S. degree is 60 credits.
Individualized A.S. Degree
Program Requirements:
PU1100 Individualized Academic and Career Planning - 1 cr.
CIS 1400 Introduction to Computers - 2 cr.
Career Focus Courses - 30 cr.
Students will complete 27 program credits with an approved degree plan and focus designed to fit their career
goals. Career focus courses will emphasize one to three career programs, with a minimum of 12 credits in one
career area. The award may include Lake Superior College courses, Credit for Prior Learning, or courses
transferred from another college.

General Education Requirements:
General education courses shall be selected from at least 6 or the 10 11nTC goal areas.
Goal 1 ENGL 1106 College Composition I - 3 cr.
Goal 1 COMM 1100, 1105, 1110, or 1115 - 3 cr.
Goal 3 or 4 Natural Science or Math - 3 cr.
GoalS History and the Social and Behavioral Sciences - 3 cr.
Goal 6 Humanities - 3 cr.General Education Electives -15 cr.
Total General Education: 30 credits
Transfer of credits to Metropolitan State University - First College will be as follows:
• 30 maximum credits to be accepted to be included in the Fi rst College individualized degree plan
focus area.
• 30 general educat ion credits.
• Total accepted in transfer for the Individualized AS. degree is 60 credits.
Students admitted to First College must complete PRSP 301 Perspectives: Educational Philosophy and
Planning and PRSP 499 First College Capstone as a part of their degree program.
