FOREWORD

Anjung UniMAP Kuala Lumpur (KL) was established in 2005 at Angkasa Raya Building in Kuala

Lumpur, and it was known before as Anjung KUKUM. As a University’s front desk, its

establishment in the capital city was an important step in making the University known and

visible to all people and communities of Kuala Lumpur and the Lembah Kelang at large.

As a part of regional promotion unit, it is important for Anjung UniMAP KL to introduce and stage

the University’s engineering trademark in an effective way in the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. So

that, the University could also capitalize from its city position to have a direct engagement and

contact with all levels of important national establishments, including government and national

agencies, multinational corporations and industries, business organizations and

entrepreneurships here.

As one of important arms of Chancellery administrative and information unit, Anjung UniMAP KL

serves many administrative and promotional services to the University’s executive officials,

academic schools, departments and staff or other respective industrial associates. Moreover,

Anjung UniMAP KL organizes UniMAP’s short term professional courses, University workshops,

seminars and conferences. In conjunction with these events, Anjung UniMAP KL also involves

in social and promotional activities in and around Kuala Lumpur and klang valley areas, and

parts of central, eastern and southern regions of semenanjung.

THE VICE CHANCELLOR’S MESSAGE

Assalamualaikum w.b.t Salam Ilmu, Keikhlasan, Kecemerlangan UniMAP

Alhamdulillah, first of all, let us offer our gratitude The Almighty for it I with His grace and benevolence that we are able to celebrate 2016.

Every day we've been through over the past 2016, the various ups and downs we have been through, and teach all the experience as a lesson for us to improve ourselves to move forward.

As UniMAP, we should have a stronger determination in advancing the university that we love. We are a big family who had the same dream. I am here as the leader of this great family, urges all citizens of UniMAP will be together with me to continue to ensure UniMAP at the top and achieve their dreams in order to make it as 500 universities in the world by 2020.

It is my pleasure to mention about the main function of Anjung Kuala Lumpur as a special front-desk city office. This administrative unit is located on the 26th floor of Menara Dato’ Onn, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) where many important business events take place. This location is also within an easy access to all the city’s major transportation connections. The main functions of this administrative unit include all promotional works, especially on promoting University’s academic programmes, seminars and workshops, and also short-term courses.

Thus, Anjung UniMAP Kuala Lumpur has also become a significant place for many important and official meeting venues outside the Perlis’ main campus, such as meetings of the University’s Board of Directors, inter-universities (MTUN) discussions, or UniMAP’s executive members and other official delegates. Indeed, it has also broadened its roles as a conducive place for many University’s consultative meetings, short-term courses, professional or life-long education workshops, and even official or social interactions in the city.

Wabillahittaufiq Walhidayah,Wassalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

COORDINATOR NOTES

BISMILLAHIRRAHMANIRRAHIM Assalamualaikum w.b.t.

I would like to congratulate all the staff of Anjung Kuala Lumpur for their courage and hard work. Accordingly, we are remained to be responsible for our main task and objectives as a front-desk of the University. As what being assigned, the role of Anjung here, is thus to ensure that our job is to gain some meaningful impacts to the University, especially with regards to promoting and marketing UniMAP’s academic programmes in Kelang Valley area, also in the eastward and southward regions. The office has provided the University and its clients various infrastructure services. Certainly, the role of the office is to ensure that its premise would become animportant venue in accommodating University’s functions or other users at large in the city.As such, these functions includeadministrative services for University’s executives, administrators or representatives; promotional work, consultative meetings for new students intakes, oras delegating office to University’s official connections, and also running short-term courses. The year 2016 was a very challenging period to us indeed, especially in the case of getting new students or clients for a master’s programme (MBA) and selling short-term courses. We thus, need supports and corporation from all the relevant units and the rest of staff members at UniMAP. So we need to plan, strategize and working even harder for the coming years. I look forward to the year 2017 in full anticipation that the challenges laid out will be tackled with the same enthusiasm and diligence. Thank you.
