IntroductionProduct descriptionThe product is a pedestrian-controlled rotary lawnmower. The model LB 548i uses BioClip to cut the grassinto fertilizer.

The model LC 551iV collects the grass in a grasscatcher. Remove the grass catcher to get rear discharge

of the grass. Attach a mulch kit (accessory) to cut thegrass into fertilizer.

Intended useUse the product to cut grass in private gardens. Do notuse the product for other tasks.

Work area safety


• Remove objects such asbranches, twigs and stonesfrom the work area before youuse the product.

• Objects that hit against thecutting equipment can ejectand cause damage to personsand objects. Keep bystandersand animals at a safe distancefrom the product.

• Never use the product in badweather such as fog, rain,

strong winds, intense cold andrisk of lightning. To use theproduct in bad weather or inmoist or wet locations is tiring.Bad weather can causedangerous conditions, such asslippery surfaces.

• Look out for persons, objectsand situations that can preventsafe operation of the product.

• Look out for obstacles, suchas roots, stones, twigs, pitsand ditches. Long grass canhide obstacles.

• To cut grass on slopes can bedangerous. Do not mowexcessively steep slopes. Donot use the product on groundthat slopes more than 15°

• Exercise extreme cautionwhen changing direction onslopes. Operate the productacross the face of slopes. Donot move up and down.

• Be careful when you go nearhidden corners and objectsthat prevent a clear view.

Work safety

• Use this product to cut grasslawns only. It is not permittedto use it for other tasks.

• Use personal protectiveequipment. Refer to Personalprotective equipment on page15.

• Make sure that you know howto stop the motor quickly in anemergency.

• Do not operate the product inrain or wet conditions. The riskof electrical shock increases ifwater enters the product.

• Do not operate the productunless the blade and allcovers are attached correctly.An incorrectly attached bladecan come loose and causepersonal injury.

• Make sure that the blade doesnot hit objects such as stonesand roots. This can dodamage to the blade and bendthe motor shaft. A bent axlecauses heavy vibration and avery high risk that the bladebecomes loose.

• If the blade hits an object or ifvibrations occur, stop theproduct immediately. Stop themotor, pull up the safety keyand remove the battery.Examine the product fordamages. Repair damages or

let an authorised service agentdo the repair.

• Never attach the motor brakehandle permanently to thehandle when the motor isstarted.

• Put the product on a stable,flat surface and start it. Makesure that the blade does nothit the ground or other objects.

• Always stay behind theproduct when you operate it.

• Let all the wheels stay on theground and keep 2 hands onthe handle when you operatethe product. Keep your handsand feet away from therotating blades.

• Do not tilt the product whenthe motor is started.

• Be careful when you pull theproduct rearward.

• Never lift up the product whenthe motor is started. If youmust lift the product, first stopthe motor, pull up the safetykey and remove the battery.

• Do not walk rearward whenyou operate the product.

• Stop the motor when youmove across areas withoutgrass, for example pathsmade of gravel, stone andasphalt.

• Do not run with the productwhen the motor is started.

Always walk when you operatethe product.

• Stop the motor before youchange the cutting height.Never make adjustments withthe motor started.

• Never let the product stay outof view with the motor started.Stop the motor and make surethat the cutting equipmentdoes not rotate.

Personal protective equipment


• Personal protective equipmentcannot fully prevent injury butit decreases the degree ofinjury if an accident doesoccur. Let your dealer helpyou select the right equipment.

• Use heavy-duty slip-resistantboots or shoes. Do not useopen shoes or go with barefeet.

• Use heavy, long pants.• Use protective gloves when

necessary, for example whenyou attach, examine or cleanthe cutting equipment.

Safety devices on the product


• Do not use a product withdefective safety devices.

• Do a check of the safetydevices regularly. If the safetydevices are defective, speakto your Husqvarna serviceagent.

To do a check of the cuttingcoverThe cutting cover decreasesvibrations in the product anddecreases the risk of injury fromthe blade.• Examine the cutting cover to

make sure that there are nodamages such as cracks.

Safety keyThe safety key is below thebattery lid. The safety keyconnects the battery thatsupplies the motor with power.To do a check of the safety keyThe safety key connects thebattery that supplies the motorwith power.

• Start and stop the motor. Ifthe safety key operatescorrectly, the motor can onlystart when the key is in thesafety lock.

Motor brake handleThe motor brake handle stopsthe motor. When the motorbrake handle is released, themotor stops.To do a check of the motorbrake, start the motor and thenrelease the motor brake handle.If the motor does not stop in 3seconds, let an approvedHusqvarna service agent adjustthe motor brake.(Fig. 21)To examine the start inhibitorDo a check of the start inhibitorto make sure that it preventsoperation of the motor.1. Push the motor brake handle

in the direction of thehandlebar. The start inhibitorstops the movement.

2. Push the start inhibitor out.(Fig. 22)

Battery safety


• Use Husqvarna rechargeablebatteries as a power supply forrelated Husqvarna productsonly. To prevent injury, do notuse the battery as a powersupply for other devices.

• Do not use non-rechargeablebatteries.

• Risk of electrical shock. Do notconnect the battery terminalsto keys, coins, screws or othermetal. This can cause a shortcircuit of the battery.

• Do not put objects into the airslots of the battery.

• Keep the battery away fromsunlight, heat or open flame.The battery can explode andcause burns and/or chemicalburns.

• Keep the battery away fromrain and wet conditions.

• Keep the battery away frommicrowaves and highpressure.

• Do not try to disassemble orbreak the battery.

• If the battery leaks, do not letthe liquid touch your body or

eyes. If you have touched theliquid, clean the area with alarge quantity of water and getmedical aid.

• Use the battery intemperatures between -10°Cand 40°C.

• Keep batteries in storageaway from metal objects suchas nails, coins, jewellery.

Battery charger safety


• Use the QC battery chargersto charge Husqvarnareplacement batteries only.

• Risk of electrical shock orshort circuit. Do not putobjects into the air slots of thecharger. Do not try todisassemble the batterycharger. Do not connect thecharger terminals to metalobjects. Use an approvedmains socket.

• This product produces anelectromagnetic field duringoperation. This field mayunder some circumstancesinterfere with active or passivemedical implants. • Regularly make sure that thepower cord of the batterycharger is not damaged andthat there are no cracks in it.

• Keep the power cord andextension cables away fromwater, oil and sharp edges.Make sure that the cable is notpinched in doors, fences orequivalent. It can cause thecharger to become energized.

• Do not clean the batterycharger with water.

• The battery charger can beused by children aged from 8years and above and personswith reduced physical,sensory, or mental capabilities

or lack of experience andknowledge if they have beengiven supervision orinstruction concerning use ofthe battery charger in a safeway and understand thehazards involved. Childrenshall not play with the batterycharger. Cleaning and usermaintenance shall not bemade by children withoutsupervision.

• Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries in thebattery charger.

• Do not use the battery chargernear flammable materials ormaterials that can causecorrosion. Do not cover thebattery charger. Pull out theplug to the battery charger ifthere is smoke or fire.

• Do not use a defective ordamaged battery charger.

• Only charge the batteryindoors in a room with goodairflow and away fromsunlight. Do not charge thebattery in wet conditions.

• Replace damaged, worn orbroken parts.

• Obey the instructions for howto change accessories. Onlyuse accessories from themanufacturer.

• When not in operation, keepthe product, battery andbattery charger apart in a dry,indoor and locked area. Make

AssemblyIntroduction

WARNING: Read and understand the safetychapter before you assemble the product.

To install and remove the multi battery(accessory)1. Remove the 4 rubber covers and the 4 screws from

the motor cover. (Fig. 23)2. Put the adapter plate onto the motor cover.3. Attach the adapter plate with the 4 supplied screws

to a torque of 5-6 Nm. (Fig. 24)4. Open the battery hatch.5. Remove the battery in slot 1. (Fig. 25)6. Remove the seal stop. (Fig. 26)7. Push the battery adapter into the battery

compartment until you hear a click. (Fig. 27)8. Put the cord of the battery adapter through the seal

stop hole. Attach the cord with the clip. (Fig. 28)9. Install the multi battery onto the battery adapter.10. Connect the multi battery to the battery adapter. (Fig.

29)11. Attach battery adapter cord to the handle with the 3

fabric straps. (Fig. 30)12. Remove the multi battery in the opposite sequence.

WARNING: Do not attach the cord tooloosely to the handle. The cord can come offthe handle and cause injury.

To assemble the handle (LC 551iV)1. Loosen the lower knobs.2. Move the knobs to the lower end of the grooves on

the left and the right side of the product. (Fig. 31)3. Set the handle height in one of the 2 available

positions.4. Move the knobs up in the direction of the handle until

they stop and you hear a click. (Fig. 32)

5. Tighten the knobs fully.

To assemble the handle (LB 548i)1. Remove the handle nut and the washer from the

plate on the upper handle.2. Put the upper handle in position on top of the lower

handle.

CAUTION: Make sure that the wires arenot caught or become damaged.

3. Attach the washer and the handle adjustment lever.(Fig. 33)

4. Turn the handle to the side for a good operationposition when you operate the product near a wall.(Fig. 34)

To assemble the grass catcher (LC551iV)1. Attach the grass catcher frame to the grass bag with

the rigid part of the bag on the bottom. Keep thehandle of the frame on top of the grass bag. (Fig. 35)

2. Attach the bottom section of the grass catcher framein the groove on the bottom of the grass catcher.

3. Attach the grass bag to the grass catcher frame withthe clips. (Fig. 36)

4. Lift the rear cover.5. Attach the grass catcher to the top edge of the

chassis.6. Put the lower part of the grass catcher into the grass

discharge channel. (Fig. 37)

To assemble the mulch plug (LC 551iVaccessory)1. Lift up the rear cover and remove the grass catcher.2. Put the mulch plug into the discharge channel. (Fig.

38)3. Replace the blade with the mulch blade that is

supplied with the mulch kit. Refer to To replace theblade on page 23.

To prepare the sensor (accessory)1. Use the sensor key to open the lid of the sensor.

To install the sensor1. Make sure that the sensor is connected to the

Husqvarna Fleet Services™ app. Refer to To do apairing operation between the app and the producton page 20.

2. Drill 2 holes by the marks in the enclosure slot. (Fig.41)

Note: Make sure that the holes are the samedimension as the rivets supplied with the sensor.

3. Use a pair of pliers to remove the outer holes on thesensor slot. (Fig. 42)

4. Drill 2 holes by the marks in the sensor slot. (Fig. 43)5. Align the sensor slot with the enclosure slot. (Fig. 44)6. Attach the sensor slot with the rivets.7. Install the sensor in the sensor slot. Align the white

mark on the sensor with the mark on the sensor slot.(Fig. 45)

8. Close the lid to the sensor and lock it with the sensorkey. Make sure that the top of the Husqvarna "H"points away from the safety key. (Fig. 46)

To set the product in operation position(LC 551iV)1. Lift the handle to upright position. (Fig. 47)2. Move the knobs up in the direction of the handle until

they stop and you hear a click. (Fig. 32)3. Tighten the knobs fully.

To set the cutting heightThe cutting height can be adjusted in 6 levels.

1. Push the cutting height control in the direction of thewheel and then rearward to increase the cuttingheight.

2. Push the cutting height control in the direction of thewheel and then forward to decrease the cuttingheight. (Fig. 48)

CAUTION: Do not set the cutting height toolow. The blades can hit the ground if thesurface of the lawn is not level.

BatteryWARNING: Before you use the battery, youmust read and understand the safetychapter. You must also read and understandthe operator's manual for the battery and thebattery charger.

Battery statusThe display shows the remaining battery capacity and ifthere are problems with the battery. The battery capacityis shown for 5 seconds after the product is switched offor the battery indicator button is pressed. The warningsymbol on the battery is on when an error has occurred.See Battery on page 24.(Fig. 49)

To charge the batteryCharge the battery before the first use. The battery isonly 30% charged when supplied to the customer.

Note: The battery charger must be connected to thevoltage and frequency specified on the rating plate.

The battery does not charge if the battery temperature isabove 50°C. The battery charger decreases thetemperature of the battery before it starts to charge.

1. Connect one end of the power cord for the batterycharger into the socket of the battery charger.

2. Connect the other end of the power cord for thebattery charger in an grounded mains socket. TheLED on the battery charger flashes green one time.(Fig. 50)

3. Put the battery in the battery charger. The green lighton the charger comes on when the battery iscorrectly connected to the battery charger. (Fig. 51)

4. When all LEDs on the battery have come on thebattery is fully charged. Charge the battery formaximum 24 hours.

5. To disconnect the battery charger from the mainssocket, pull the plug, not the power cord.

6. Remove the battery from the battery charger.

Battery charging statusA Husqvarna Li-ion battery can be charged or used at allcharging levels. The battery is not damaged. A fullycharged battery will not decrease its charge when thebattery is left in the charger.

To charge the multi battery

Note: Charge the battery if it is the first time that you useit. A new battery is only 30% charged.

1. Make sure that the battery is dry.2. Connect the multi battery to the adapter. (Fig. 52)3. Put the adapter in the battery charger.4. Make sure that the green charging LED on the

battery charger comes on. That means that theadapter and multi battery are connected correctly.(Fig. 53)

5. When all LEDs on the battery come on and theadapter shows 100%, the battery is fully charged.(Fig. 54)

The adapter shows the state of charge in steps of1%. Small deviations are possible at the start of thecharge.

6. To disconnect the battery charger from the mainssocket, pull the plug. Do not pull the cable.

7. Remove the adapter from the battery charger.8. Remove the multi battery from the adapter.

Note: Refer to the multi battery and battery chargermanuals for more information.

To start the product1. Lift the battery lid.2. Put a charged battery in battery slot number 1 below

the battery lid. For longer operation time, put asecond charged battery in battery slot number 2.

3. Disconnect the safety key from the safety key holder.4. Push the safety key into the safety lock. (Fig. 55)5. Stay behind the product.6. Push the ON/OFF button on the control panel. The

display comes on.7. Loosen the start inhibitor. (Fig. 22)8. Push the motor brake handle in the direction of the

handlebar. (Fig. 56)

To use the drive on the wheels (LC551iV)• Pull the drive bail in the direction of the handlebar to

start the drive. (Fig. 57)• Push + and - on the control panel to set the drive

speed in 4 steps. (Fig. 58)• Release the drive bail to disengage the drive, for

example when you go near an obstacle.

To use the SavE functionThe product has a battery saving function (SavE) thatgives longer operation time.

1. Push the SavE button (A) to start the function. TheSavE symbol (B) on the display comes on.

2. Push the SavE button again to stop the function. TheSavE symbol (B) on the display goes out. (Fig. 59)

The SavE function stops automatically if the groundconditions make it necessary to have a higher output.The SavE function starts automatically again when theground conditions let it.

PowerBoost functionWhen the product cuts long or wet grass, the motorautomatically increases rpm. To save battery time, themotor goes back to standard mode automatically whenthe PowerBoost function is not necessary.

To stop the productThe product stops automatically if you do not operate itfor 3 minutes.

1. Release the motor brake handle to stop the motor.(Fig. 21)

2. Push the ON/OFF button on the control panel. AllLED lights and symbols on the display go out. (Fig.60)

3. Remove the safety key from the safety lock and putit in the safety key holder.

To get a good result• Always use a sharp blade. A blunt blade gives an

irregular result and the cut surface of the grassbecomes yellow. A sharp blade also uses lessenergy than a blunt blade.

• Do not cut more than ⅓ of the length of the grass.Cut first with the cutting height set high. Examine theresult and lower the cutting height to an applicablelevel. If the grass is very long, drive slowly and cut 2times if necessary.

• Cut in different directions each time to preventstripes in the lawn.

To cut grass without a grass catcher ormulch plug attached (LC 551iV)1. Lift up the rear cover and remove the grass catcher.2. If a mulch plug and a mulch blade are attached,

remove them.3. Close the rear cover before you operate the product.

When you operate the product, the cut grass dischargesbelow the rear cover.

To replace the blade1. Lock the blade with a block of wood. (Fig. 61)2. Remove the blade bolt, the spring washer and the

blade. (Fig. 62)3. Examine the blade support and blade bolt for

damages.a) If you replace the blade or the blade support,

also replace the blade bolt, the spring washerand the friction washer.

4. Examine the motor shaft to make sure that it is notbent.

5. When you attach the new blade, make sure that thebent ends point in the direction of the cutting cover.(Fig. 63)

6. Put the friction washer and the blade against theblade support. (Fig. 64)

7. Make sure that the blade aligns with the center of themotor shaft. (Fig. 65)

8. Lock the blade with a block of wood. (Fig. 66)9. Attach the spring washer and tighten the bolt with a

torque of 65-75 Nm. (Fig. 67)10. Pull the blade around by hand and make sure that it

turns freely.

WARNING: Use protective gloves. Theblade is very sharp and cuts can easilyoccur.

11. Start the product to do a test of the blade. If theblade is not correctly attached, there is vibration inthe product or the cutting result is unsatisfactory.

To clean the product• Clean plastic parts with a clean and dry cloth.• Do not use water to clean the product. Water can

enter the battery or the motor and cause short circuitor damage to the product.

• Do not use a high pressure washer to clean theproduct.

• Do not flush water directly on the motor.• Use a brush to remove leaves, grass and dirt.

To clean the battery and the batterycharger

CAUTION: Do not clean the battery or thebattery charger with water.

• Make sure that the battery and the battery chargerare clean and dry before you put the battery into thebattery charger.

• Clean the battery terminals with compressed air oruse a soft and dry cloth.

1. Examine the cutting equipment for damage orcracks. Always replace a damaged cuttingequipment.

2. Look at the blade to see if it is damaged or blunt.

Note: It is necessary to balance the blade after it issharpened. Let a service center sharpen, replace andbalance the blade. If you hit an obstacle that causes theproduct to stop, replace the damaged blade. Let theservice center estimate if the blade can be sharpened ormust be replaced.

• Използвайте заряднитеустройства QC за зарежданесамо на резервниакумулатори Husqvarna.

• Опасност от токов удар иликъсо съединение. Непоставяйте предмети въввъздушните отвори назарядното устройство. Неопитвайте да демонтиратезарядното устройство. Несвързвайте клемите на

зарядното устройство къмметални предмети.Използвайте одобренелектрически контакт.

За монтиране и премахване намулти акумулатора (принадлежност)1. Премахнете 4-те гумени покрития и 4-те винта от

капака на двигателя. (Фиг. 23)2. Поставете пластината на адаптера върху капака

на двигателя.3. Прикрепете пластината на адаптера с 4-те

предоставени винта с въртящ момент от 5 – 6Nm. (Фиг. 24)

4. Отворете капака на акумулатора.5. Извадете акумулатора от отвор 1. (Фиг. 25)6. Премахнете уплътнителя. (Фиг. 26)7. Поставете адаптера за акумулатор в

отделението за акумулатори, докато не чуетещракване. (Фиг. 27)

8. Вкарайте шнура на адаптера за акумулатор презотвора на уплътнението. Прикрепете шнура сщипката. (Фиг. 28)

9. Монтирайте мулти акумулатора върху адаптераза акумулатор.
