Always had a desire to learn Hmong but

haven't had the opportunity to do so? Well, it’s yourlucky summer! You’re in for a treat! This summer a basic

Hmong class will be offered at no cost if you’re interested in

learning how to read, write, and speak Hmong.

Who’s teaching? 

Hi! My name is Khoua Vang, and I am humbled to

have this opportunity to serve as your instructor.

Together we will have fun learning and growing

together . I’m an educator in the Eau Claire School

District . In addition to teaching second graders,

I’ve taught Hmong to precollege students throughthe Upward Bound and UWEC Youth Leadership

program. I look forward to working with you!

When will the class start and how

often will we meet

The class will start August 1st and end the29th. We will meet every Monday andTuesday evening from 6-7:30 PM.

Who can sign up

Preferably age 12 and older but will makeexceptions for younger students who havethe motivation and desire to learn.

What will I learn

This is a beginner’s course so noexperience in Hmong is required. At theend of the course, you will be able to readand write in Hmong. You will be able to usebasic sentences to hold a conversation.

My hope is that you will be able to utilizethe skills you obtained from this course to

expand your Hmong vocabulary andstrengthen your Hmong communicationskills.
