➢ If you are going to a new place in a big city, you need a correct map! If you ask people who themselves don’t know, it does not help!

➢ All of us are destined to die. What we do on the way defines our way to Jannah.

➢ After knowing the truth, we have to grow in guidance by obeying Allah and studying Qur’an and Hadith (so that the signal of guidance is received by our hearts).

You need a map!


➢ Guidance: Qur’an, Sunnah, Nature (fitrah), conscience, common sense

➢ Misguidance: Attractions of this world, pleasures, instant gratification, and Satan

➢ We may slip but keep repenting and coming back to Allah.

Forces of guidance and misguidance keep fighting each other.


➢ Heart is highly unstable. You have to keep watching what enters the heart through the ears and eyes otherwise we may not receive the signal of guidance.

➢ Beg Allah for consistency

The more you grow it, the closer you get to Allah. You grow it by:

• Having correct and firm faith

• Doing regular Zikr and Tilawah with Tadabbur

• Worshipping Allah

• Reading Seerah of the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص and pious

people,

• Be in the company of pious

Nurture and grow the tree of guidance


• Stay away from diseases of the heart:

• Nifaq,

• Fisq,

• Bid’ah,

• Shirk,

• Riyaa,

• Ujub (liking oneself),

• Stinginess,

• Evil desires,

• Hasad, etc.



You may reach a stage where youwill see the Qur’anic aayat that yourecite or listen to giving you cluestowards the solution of yourproblems and worries.

Need role models

➢ Theory or instructions or directions without examples are not enough to understand.

➢ We humans have a tendency from childhood to look at others and follow them.

➢ We need models to follow.


➢ Everyday we use mirror to make sure that we look fine. Look in the right mirror!

➢ We don’t use mirrors which are dull or cracked or concave or convex.

➢ Life is much more complicated. Our models should be the best ones. Those who were guided and blessed by Allah Himself.

➢ Father of Ibrahim A (blind follower who preferred to make and sell idols for his position and money)

➢ Haaman: an evil minister in Fir’oun’s cabinet who preferred to be with Fir’oun rather than follow Musa (pbuh)

➢ Qaroon: Wealthy evil and stingy man who sided with evil rulers rather than with truth

➢ Remember this hadith – in EVERY Raka’ah - while

reciting Surah Fatiha-mentioned in Sahih Muslim,

narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with

him) that our Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said:

➢ Allah said: I have divided the prayer between Me and

My slave. Half is for Me and half for him and I give

him what he asks for.
