Dwarves

I really love dwarves. When gaming, both pen & paper and digitally, I am always inspired by these short, stoic and crafty characters.

In this design I wanted to explore the modern dwarven concept. A race of people born in caves, deprived of sun-light and experts in the use of metals and fire.

By looking at how animals in nature adapt to confined spaces and lack of light, I was inspired to design these characters with enhanced secondary senses, reduced skin chroma, and longer arms.

I wanted to do these things but with-out loosing the silhouette and feel of dwarvenness that I really enjoy in my gaming experiences.
