#MeToo Momentum1:00–2:15 p.m. (Scott Hall 2) Survivors of the abuse of power, especially sexual harassment and assault, often stay silent because of the negative responses to those who come forward. Silencing intensifies the effects of trauma, increasing isolation and depriving those who have been impacted of needed emo-tional support. #MeToo Momentum is a safe space for those who identify as female, to listen to each other and to share our stories. Together, we can be empowered to move forward.Parody and Subversion in Matthew’s Gospel 1:00 p.m. (OCC Conference Room) Bert Newton will continue a sociopolitical and literary study of Matthew’s Gospel through Nov. 11, revealing its use of parody, rhetorical hyperbole, and subversive messaging.
