· Wilmslow is an affluent town in the heart of Cheshire lying immediatelySouth of the city centre of Manchester situated between Alderley Edgeand Handforth.

· Wilmslow has flourished over recent years due to its excellentcommunication links such as, the recently extended A34 bypass, M56,M60 and M6 motorways. The main West coast train station linking toLondon Euston in under 2 hours and Manchester Airport can bereached within a 10 minute drive offering national and internationalconnectivity through its three main terminals. Further details of allthese facilities and services are included within this pack.

· Over recent years Wilmslow and neighbouring Alderley Edge havebecome well-known nationally for their links with a number of highprofile residents often from the sporting and political worlds. The areais also a hub for directors and other key employees with a number ofManchester’s major businesses who seek to live and work within ashort distance of the city centre. Many companies have relocated toWilmslow town centre offices as it provides easier access for theirclients by avoiding the need for them to travel into the centre ofManchester.

· Leisure facilities are well catered for with Total Fitness, David Lloydand a substantial modern leisure centre, all within the vicinity ofWilmslow.

· Transport is where Wilmslow excels and whilst the regional motorwaynetwork is highly accessible from the town centre, it is often theservice offered by Wilmslow’s mainline west coast railway station thatappeals to occupiers.

· Wilmslow provides commuter services to various local towns andvillages along with quick and easy access into the centre ofManchester along with routes into Manchester Airport.

· The local council authority is Cheshire East and currentlyconservatively run. Politically Wilmslow falls within the constituencyof Tatton which has historically been a Conservative constituency andis currently represented by the current Chancellor of the Exchequer,George Osbourne. It is the third most affluent constituency in the UKoutside of Kensington and Chelsea and the City of London andWestminster.

· Wilmslow and the surrounding area benefit from close proximity toa number of major universities and educational institutions whichinclude the University of Salford, University of Manchester, ManchesterMetropolitan University and UMIST, all of these are within 15 miles ofWilmslow town centre and assist in ensuring there is an abundance ofhighly educated potential employees many of which are of graduatecalibre throughout the surrounding area.

· There is a substantial employee catchment area within a 30 minutedrive of Wilmslow town centre and further information on thedemographics of the area can be provided as required either fromourselves or directly by Cheshire East Council.
