Background LSCAA

London School Center for Autism Awareness was established in 2008, as a London School of - Public Relations community service. LSCAA objective is to educate people about autism through a wide variety of activities. LSCAA regularly conducts seminars, workshops, movie road shows, play back theater, radio talk shows, TV shows, school visits, support groups, sibling and parent sharing sessions, research, and many other activities.

The program conducts :I. Training & Research

1. Education for Elementary Teachersa. Teachers Training This training teachers how to handle children with special needs especially students in school.

It alaso helps teachers to understand them and help parents to conquer difficulties in dealing with their child.

b. Movie Screening LSCAA, in collaboration with LSPR students made a 30-minutes short film about children with

special needs, adopted from the book “My Brother is Different” by Doctor Sung Ming from Singapore and rewritten by Mr. Arswendo Atmowiloto in Bahasa Indonesia. This film is one of the mediums to educate elementary and high school students to understand Autism.

2. Company TrainingThe objective of company training is to educate the companies on how to deal with families who have children with special needs. Hopefully through this training, it can help those families to feel comfortable during activities with their children while within the facilities of these companies.

Parents & Sibling Group DiscussionParents & Sibling Group Discussion is an activity for parents and siblings with special needs children where they can discuss, share experiences and knowledge about Autism.

Autism Awareness FestivalAutism Awareness Festival is an Annual Event to commemorate World Autism Day.

Play DayPlay Day is an activity made for kids with special needs to interact and play around. The chosen place is fun but educative. We have been to few places like.

L SBAdivided into two programs : 1. Extracurricular ClassKelas ekstrakulikuler ini ditujukan untuk mendukung ketrampilan putra/I yang disesuaikan dengan kemampuan masing-masing.

Extracurricular class is intended to develop their skills.

a. Graphic Design ClassSpecial needs students will learn graphic design that improves their skills and creativity.

b. PianoPiano class helps to stabilize emotions, increase concentration and serve as a theraphy for special needs children.

c. GitarGuitar class hels flexibility by plucking stringed guitar and will increase concentration.

d. DrumDrum class also helps to increase concentrations, transmits energy and emotion from special needs children.

2. Vocational EducationIs an educational institution formed to acquire skills for citizens who successfully passed high school and still like to carry on studying.

Offered programme :a. Graphic Design

Students are able to produce work that is aligned with the layout, color, pictures and selection of the letters in creating artworks.

b. MultimediaStudents are able to produce animated works, games, movie editing and photo by using computers.

c. Performing ArtsStudents are able to produce a stage that can support performing arts for its layout, lighting, sounds and photo editing requirements.

Duration :6 semesters. Divided into tow semesters to any period of study.

Facilities :1. Classrooms Classrooms are inside the LSBA building and each class is utilized with multimedia

equipments, air conditioning for comfort in teaching and learning process. The number of students is only 8 persons pe class. Each teacher is assisted by one associate.

2. Computer Lab Each campus in LSPR is equipped with one computer kab to support teaching and learning

activities.

3. Editing Lab Students can use the on-site editing lab to learn how to edit a recording from video camera

into a movie. Editing lab is powered by a video editor program that is widely used in the industry.

4. Music Studio In music studio, the students can use music instruments such as keyboard, drums, guitar

and to learn how to edit music as well.

5. TV & Photography Studio Students can learn how to use video cameras, proper sound adjustments and lighting for a

TV programme.

6. Internal Psychology LSBA provides internal psychologist and who can also attend to parents who want counseling.
