The Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund invites applications for its research grant. This supports high potential translational impact research in the field of pancreatic cancer aimed at bringing new laboratory findings quickly to the clinic. Priority is given to research that focuses on early detection, diagnosis and successful treatment and leads to the development of novel therapies and diagnostics.
Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent qualification or research experience. Principal applicants must be based in a UK or Republic of Ireland research group or institution, however projects that involve collaboration with a researcher or researchers outside these countries are welcomed. PhD studentships may be included within the project description, but the application must be made by the potential supervisor.
The grant is worth up to £200,000 over three years, to cover salary or research costs or both.

SSF allocates SEK 20 million for the program “SSF Research Institute Doctoral Student”. Each grant within the program covers the funding for a student who is employed at a research institute in Sweden, operated in collaboration between industry and academia.
The grant runs for four to five years and will result in a PhD. SSF expects to grant eight projects 2.5 million each. The initiative applies to people yet not admitted to doctoral studies. The doctoral student shall, during the entire grant period, be employed at the research institute to at least 80 percent .
The last day for application is April 9, 2018, at. 14.00. Earliest project launch is 2018-11-01 but no later than 2019-06-30.

BIDRAG TILL FORSKNINGSMILJÖ MIGRATION OCH INTEGRATION

Syftet med bidrag till forskningsmiljö inom migration och integration är att skapa mervärde av samarbete i större grupperingar än i ett vanligt projekt och att skapa långsiktighet. Det söks av en konstellation av flera forskare från olika lärosäten och/eller olika ämnen, nationellt eller internationellt, som arbetar mot ett gemensamt forskningsmål på lång sikt.
Samverkan kan vara motiverad exempelvis av en tvärvetenskapligt inriktad forskningsuppgift, samarbete mellan forskare på olika universitet, eller forskning knuten till en nationell/internationell infrastruktur. Forskningsuppgiften måste vara större och mer utmanande än att den kan angripas av en ensam projektledare och ansökan måste demonstrera att forskningsmiljön erbjuder en unik kombination av kunskap och kompetenser som krävs för att angripa just denna uppgift.
Inom ramen för denna utlysning avser Vetenskapsrådet preliminärt att finansiera totalt fem bidrag till forskningsmiljöer inom migration och integration.

Utlysningen stödjer translationell, tvärvetenskaplig forskning där pre-klinisk och/eller klinisk forskning kombineras med utveckling inom bioinformatik och bättre utnyttjande av forskningsdata. Sverige är via Vetenskapsrådet ett av de 22 länder som
deltar i ERA PerMed-utlysningen där forskning av högsta vetenskapliga kvalitet i internationell konkurrens premieras.

Forte is now issuing the first call for proposals within the framework of the 10-year, national research programme for applied welfare research. The call covers project grants, postdoc grants and practice-oriented research fellows. A total of around SEK 94 million is available over three years (2018–2020).
The research programme is aimed at strengthening long-term knowledge expansion and development within the field of applied social services. Initiatives will involve promoting client and practice-oriented research in the social services, strengthening collaboration between research and practice, and increasing the participation of users and those close to users.

Lunds universitet har avsatt medel för universitetsgemensam finansiering av infrastruktur. Dessa medel utlyses årligen av den universitetsgemensamma forskningsnämnden. Tvärvetenskapliga forskningsmiljöer med särskild strategisk betydelse för universitetet är i fokus för utlysningen. Har de även förankring i flera fakulteter är det positivt.
Utlysning av universitetsgemensam infrastrukturfinansiering sker en gång årligen. Beslut om tilldelning tas av rektor efter beredning i forskningsnämnden.
Minimalt kan 250 000 kr/år sökas och maximalt är beloppet 2 mnkr/år. Infrastrukturen kan maximalt få stöd under 5 år.

Wallenberg Clinical Scholars is part of the total investment of SEK 1.7 billion over a ten-year period by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (KAW), to strengthen medical research and life sciences. The aim of the programme, which started in 2015, is to support and encourage some of the most successful clinical researchers at Swedish universities and university hospitals. KAW intends to finance up to five research clinics with SEK 3 million/year for at least five years. The clinics are then free to distribute the funds as they see fit.
The foundation’s intention with the programme is to enable the selected researchers to work with a higher level of ambition, and under a reduced burden of applying for external research grants, to allow them to achieve even greater international impact for their research, as well as the opportunity
to invest in bolder and more long-term projects. KAW’s main aim is to promote scientific research and education, or studies that benefit Sweden at large.

De utdelade beloppen är sammanlagt cirka 2 miljoner kronor per år, och medel beviljas en gång per år. Bidrag ges i regel till tio till femton projekt med maximalt drygt 200 000 kronor. Bidrag ges för ett år i taget, men fortsättningsbidrag kan ges under maximalt fyra år.

Maximal stipendiesumma är 50,000 kronor. Stipendium från stiftelsen kan av samma person högst erhållas två gånger under en femårsperiod.
Stipendiet kan sökas under hela året.

Fondstyrelsen kommer löpande att dela ut bidrag för vetenskaplig presentationer på konferenser och mässor.
Bidraget beviljas för deltagande med presentation, poster el dyl på vetenskaplig konferens för att möjliggöra deltagande i vetenskapliga möten som främjar ovanstående syften.
Resestipendier för medverkan vid event inom Europa utdelas med högst 10.000 kr och till event utanför Europa uppgår stipendiet till högst 15.000 kr.
Man har endast möjlighet att få detta bidrag 1 ggr per år. Man söker löpande under året, men räkna med en viss handläggningstid.Beviljat anslag ska återrapporteras inom 3 månader efter man man deltagit i konferenser/mässor.

Ansökan bör innehålla sammanfattning/abstrakt av sin presentation samt en presentation av konferansen samt sitt CV.

For some 20 years now, the Rheumatology Department at Lund University has been organizing an annual one day Cutting Edge Rheumatology meeting featuring one local and 5-7 international speakers.

The audience consists of rheumatology specialists and trainees from all over Sweden as well as of interested basic scientists.
