LYSAGHT ZIPDEK® Structural standing seam profile is the latest addition to the LYSAGHT suite of products. This roofing system requires no substrate as it is profiled with structural strength to function as a single skin roof. However, it can still be used in double skin roof to increase in thermal resistance and sound transmission. In addition, LYSAGHT ZIPDEK® can be formed into straight sheet, convex curved sheet or tapered sheet to meet increasingly sophisticated roof geometries demanded of designers today

The special coating on the sheet is composed of 55% aluminum and

43.5% zinc with 1.5% silicon. The significance of this material is that its

corrosion resistance is vastly superior to tradition products such as

galvanized steel, yet it costs no more.

What happens with 55% AI-Zn is that the aluminum provides a

good barrier. However, at edges or scratches the zinc goes to work and

furnishes the sacrificial protection.
