1500 words in English

include a brief background information class (teacher, learners, classroom context)
either audio/video record class activity, then transcribe and analyse
OR collect learner productions (oral or written assignments, completed in class or for homework) to analyse
ANALYSIS OF ACTIVITY
transcribe and analyse a single activity (e.g., a listening exercise, the correction of written work)

ANALYSIS OF LEARNER PRODUCTION
Error analysis
Complexity
"Learner language is the constantly changing ability students have to communicate as they learn a new language. It provides an index of students progress, allowing teachers to determine how to best educate them. By analyzing examples of learner language, students develop skills to address it when they are teaching."
ANALYSIS OF LEARNER PRODUCTION
describe your corpus of learner productions (number, level of learners, conditions of production)
decide what you want to look at - errors, or complexity
analyse the data and draw conclusions from what you find
