The Alcatel-Lucent Network Routing Specialist II (NRS II) certication builds on the strongfoundation established in the NRS I certication and provides a solid foundation for understandingthe more advanced networks and services that can be deployed with IP and Ethernet technologiessupported in the Alcatel-Lucent Service Router portfolio.

Upon completion of the NRS II certication, participants willhave strong knowledge of internet routing protocols, IP/MPLStechnology, and the Alcatel-Lucent network and servicesarchitecture and how it can be utilized to deliver residentialand business communication services.

• Entire markets are transforming rapidly with the convergenceof voice and video over packet-based networks. IP has estab-lished itself as the protocol of choice to enable convergenceof video, voice and data services to meet the requirementsof both consumers and enterprises.

play service aggregation. The delivery landscape is changingfor both consumer and enterprise services alike.

• Understand the design decisions that are necessary for thesuccessful implementation of routing protocols in large-scale,service-oriented networking infrastructures for mobile,man aged communication and triple play networks.

• Provide an in-depth understanding of multiprotocol labelswitching (MPLS) concepts, terminology, signaling protocols,

design considerations such as resiliency, and the implemen-tation, monitoring and basic troubleshooting of an MPLSnetwork.

• Ensure participants can demonstrate a good understandingof MPLS and the establishment of label switched paths (LSPs)using either label distribution protocol (LDP) or resourcereservation protocol (RSVP) and resource reservation protocolwith trafc engineering (RSVP-TE).
