    Enzymes have immense catalytic power

    (but they cannot alter reaction equilibria)Enzymes are highly specific

    The catalytic activities of many enzymes are highly regulated

    Enzymes accelerate reactions by stabilizing transition states

    For example, 1 molecule of carbonic anhydrase
