Programming on a Budget: FoodSharing Resources

• Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s both have a reputation for donating food to libraries.

• Leave posters or flyers on grocery store community boards.

• Look for community centers to partner with that can provide kitchen space.

• Don’t be afraid to ask.

Programming on a Budget: Greatest Hits: Scavenger Hunt

“It worked like a passport. Each teen was given a treasure map at

the start. After a participant attended an activity, the teen librarian (or

volunteer) staffing that station would apply an ink-stamp over that location

of the map. Acquiring a minimum number of stamps gave them a better

chance at winning a raffle prize at the end.”

Programming on a Budget: Greatest Hits: PlayReaders

My PlayReaders group just requires access to a copy machine and some snacks.  I didn't invent it or anything, but it's awesome.  And theater kids are a pretty easy

sell for library programs!
