Dear Church Family, As I sat at my desk trying to think of an encouraging word to share with you for the month of March I decided to go with a holiday themed article. So, I went to Google and I typed in “holidays in March”. I do not know if you have ever tried this, but you would be surprised to know that almost everyday in the month of March has a special meaning; March 2nd is “Old Stuff Day”, March 3rd is “If Pets had Thumbs Day”, March 5th is “Multiple Personality Day”, March 20th is “Extraterrestrial Abductions Day” and March 26th is “Make Up Your Own Holiday Day”. Now, I can’t make this stuff up, no pun intended, and there are many other weird and not so weird national observance days in the month of March. However, one day in March caught my attention above any other day and that day is March 9th. Now, many days share more than one special interests, like March 8th for instance, it is “National Working Women’s Day” and “Be Nasty Day”. So, working women have to share their day with people who just want to be nasty because it is March 8th. Back to March 9th, this day only has one area of interest and I believe it is an area that plagues many of us today, March 9th is “Panic Day”. It was just a few weeks ago that an earthquake registered in Edgefield and people went hysterical. For those of you who watched the news, researched earthquakes on the internet or have a Facebook page realize that people were going crazy. I noticed a lot of people proclaiming, “Jesus is coming back” and “you better get your lives right with God”. I began to think to myself how wrong our vision of the 2nd coming of Christ is in our minds. With wars, earthquakes, and weather changes, people, Christians, have become terrified of the 2nd coming. It is something that strikes panic into the hearts and minds of many. However, throughout Scripture, we are taught that the 2nd coming of Christ, for those who have given their lives to Christ, will be a time of triumph. Paul sends strong warning throughout the known Gentile area that for those who do not believe in Christ the 2nd coming will be a time of panic, fear, and trembling but, not for Christians. There are several things in this world that bring panic and fear into our lives, however, none of them are greater than our God! “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you’ I will help you’ I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10 Joshua 24:15, Rob Brazell Hunger in America exists for over 50 million people. WHO ARE YOU WEARING? Before the Oscars, a big question for every glamor-ous celebrity is “Who are you wearing?” Fashion reporters and fans are eager to discover and imi-tate the latest designers and styles.

Few of us will ever walk the red carpet in Holly-wood, yet we receive a much more impressive wardrobe makeover when we accept Jesus as our Savior. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus turned our filthy rags of sin into dazzling white robes of righteousness (see Isaiah 61:10).

This righteousness is embellished with good works that speak to our vibrant faith. How evident is your new “outfit” to people around you? As you get dressed each day, consider whether you’re living in such a way that people will wonder “Who are you wearing?”

Spring Revival

March 28th & 29th @ 6:30pm Sunday morning, March 30th

The son of a Baptist minister, he was born in Egypt and raised in a Christian

home. He learned Islam like every other student in a Muslin country and

studied Islamic law in college. He became a Christian at a young age.

He has a Bachelor’s Degree in theology and a Master’s Degree in

Missiology from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary

Come hear Rev. Dakdok reveal the truth about Islam.

February 2014 Perfect Attendance

Moses was a prophet and lawgiver for God’s chosen people, the

Israelites.

What does the name Moses mean in Hebrew?

A. “Out of the water” B. “Giver of the Law” C. “Prophet” D. “God is good”

No matter what sin we have committed, no matter how terrible

it may be, God loves us. —Billy Graham

During Sunday dinner, a mother asked her son what he’d learned in Sunday school that day.

“Well,” he said, “our teacher told us how God sent Moses behind enemy lines on a rescue mission to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. When he got to the Red Sea, he had his engineers build a pontoon bridge and all the people walked across safely. Then he used his walkie-talkie to radio head-quarters for reinforcements. They sent bombers to blow up the bridge, and all the Israelites were saved.”

“Now, is that really what your teacher said?” the boy’s mother asked.

“Well, no,” he admitted. “But if I told it the way the teacher did, you’d never believe it!”
