Registering in a parish is a declaration of your desire to be part of a Catholic Community and to be committed to the life of the parish family. Being a registered parishioner makes things much easier especially when it is time for infant baptism, school registration, weddings, upon being asked to be a baptismal or confirmation sponsor, and even for funerals. We are often asked to provide affidavits for baptism and confirmation sponsors. We can only do this when a family or each person is registered, active, and a contributing member of our parish.

Keep kids aware of the dangers online

Just about everyone in your community has access to the internet, and it can be a valuable tool for learning, communicating and educating. In the classroom, kids can go online to do research and assignments. Adults should also be educating kids about the dangers that lurk online – predators and strangers who are trolling for information can pose as anyone, and it is important that kids use caution on any site, no matter what they are doing.

THE WAY OF THE CROSS

“The Son of man must be lifted up, so that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life.”

Jn 3:14-15

In the Votive Mass: We adore and praise our Lord Jesus Christ because, by his Holy Cross, he has redeemed the world.

In making the “Way of the Cross,” we are struck by the certainty of two things: The destructive power of sin and the healing power of God’s love.

When we look upon Jesus, we see clearly the destructive power of sin and the sickness of our human family.

Brothers and Sisters,

The message of the Cross has been entrusted to us, so we may offer hope to the world. Yes, we are indeed living in joyful hope that God can transform our suffering into joy, our isolation into communion, and our death into life.

When we proclaim Christ Crucified, we are proclaiming not ourselves, but Him. “He is our life, our salvation and our resurrection; through Him we are saved and set free.” (cf. Gal 6:14)

As we begin this Way of the Cross, let Mary take each of us by the hand. Ask her for a bit of her humility and docility, so the Love of Christ Crucified will be able to enter our heart.

May Mary, our Holy Mother, the woman of faith, the woman of sorrows, lead us to her Son. May our faith make us loyal and faithful to Him.
