Car Show Organization Meeting We will be having an organizational meeting for the June 24th Car Show on Tuesday, June 12th at 6 pm at the
IC Parish Center. If you would like to help with the car show, please come to the meeting.
Car Show We are having a car and motorcycle show on Sunday, June 24th at Nativity. We will be inviting people to drive their classic
and/or sporty cars and bikes to the 11 am Mass and then stay for a show. The Knights will be serving hamburgers and/or hot
dogs. Plus we will have a food truck or two present. We will also be blessing the cars and motorcycles at 1 pm. I you or a
friend or family member have a classic car (new or old), please bring it or get someone to bring it. The first 50 cars will re-
ceive a free dash plaque. Going Away Party for Fr. Paul and Fr. Brad and Retirement of Deacon Ron and My 20th Anniversary as a Priest
We will be having a combined celebration on Sunday, July 8th at noon at the Nativity Parish Center. This party will be the
going away party for Fr. Brad and Fr. Paul as well as a retirement party for Deacon Ron. It will also be the celebration of
my 20th anniversary as a priest. Center. The ladies guild will be serving brats and hamburgers with the aid of the Men’s
Club. This will take the place of Hot Dog Fest which we will have some other time.
Citizen’s Police Academy This week at the Citizen’s Academy we graduated. I received a certificate of graduation, a shirt and a DVD of the
training. The course is now complete, and it was a great course to take. I learned a lot about law enforcement. It is a very
hard job with a lot of dangers and many skills are needed. We have an excellent police force here in Sioux City. Please pray
for all law enforcement as they need God’s protection and our prayers.
Senior Luncheon – Due to cleaning in the Im-
maculate Conception Parish Center and other
summer activities, we will not be holding Senior
Luncheons during the summer months of June, July and Au-
gust. We will resume the luncheons on Friday, September
14th. We would once again like to thanks all those who
attended the lunches, donated food, and help set up and
cleanup after the luncheons. See you in the fall!!
Mater Dei Family Guild Officers – Nativity and Immacu-
late Conception Family Guilds were combined into one
guild this spring and is now Mater Dei Family Guild.
The officers for our Mater Dei Family Guild are Robyn
Mellang, Co-Chair, Peggy Eggerling, Co-Chair, Kristen
Jones, Secretary and Jennifer TenHulzen, Treasurer.
These ladies have generously offered their time and talent
to assure that the Mater Dei Family Guild continues coordi-
nating parish dinners and other events that have occurred
in past years. When they call or ask for your help, please
be ready to say “yes”.

Catholic Daughters Ave Maria Court #269 will meet at Holy Spirit Retirement June 13th beginning with a 5:30pm Mass in the chapel. A potluck dinner provided by the M-Z members, a meeting and a celebration of the Catholic Daughters Residents Birthdays will follow the Mass.
Fun Camp is Brain-Booster for Summer A four-day,
hands-on science camp, the “Science Classic,” will be
held July 9-12 at 9 a.m.–12 noon in the science labs
of the new Bishop Heelan High School. Teachers will
offer students entering grade 6-8 a fun setting to ex-
plore chemistry, anatomy, circulation, physiology of the
human brain and more. Registration of $50 includes a t
-shirt. The CNOS Foundation sponsors the camp. Regis-

PERSONAL PRODUCTS PANTRY The Mater Dei Per-sonal Products Pantry is open every week on Thursday from 4-6PM. It is located at 1212 Morningside Ave. (parish offices). If you, a family member or someone you know can benefit from using the pantry, please encourage them to stop by. All volunteers staffing the pantry have signed Confidentiality Agreements and everyone will be treated with dignity and respect. PERSONAL PRODUCT PANTRY UPDATE: We have come to the end of May and after three weeks of operation we have served nine households – 43 pep-le. We will continue to work to get the information out that we are here and ready to be of service. Thank you for any help you can give to
spread the word. We appreciate your support. The summer series at Trinity Heights Queen of Peace on Encountering the Sacred in our Everyday Lives has start-ed. If you missed the first session, don’t miss the next one! Father Michael Erpelding will speak on encounter-ing Jesus in His Word. The June 13th program starts in the Marian Center immediately after the 7:00 outdoor ro-sary. There is no charge, and all faiths and all ages are welcome.

Do you want to learn how to share your faith in a non-confrontational joyous way? St. Paul Street Evangelization has mobilized thousands of Catholics to fully participate in the work of the New Evangelization through its workshops. However, this is not a street evangelization workshop. The
workshop focuses on basic methods for evangelization that anyone can use. With that in mind Mater Dei Parish has invited St. Paul Street Evangeliza-
