About the Play

When a corporation screws up - like, for instance, when the CEO is seen doing questionable things in a viral YouTube video - they bring in a crisis

expert. Someone to circle the wagons. Handle the media. Control the panic. That would be Margot Euston. All she needs is for CEO Jack Carville to be

completely honest. But honesty is not a part of Jack's business plan.

There will be one 15-minute intermission.

Rover's Mission

Presenting treasures, new and rediscovered: theatre "off the beaten path."

Rover Dramawerks produces lost or forgotten works of well-known authors,

revives excellent scripts that have suffered from lack of exposure, and discovers unknown gems of the stage.

Who's Who Alison Baron (Backstage Crew) is thrilled to have been invited to work at Rover. When not at the theatre, Alison can be found napping. During pre and post naps, Alison is probably coloring or mentally preparing herself for college next year. If none of the above applies, you might find her spontaneously dancing, at Allen's Community Theatre, or at home deciding which pair of socks accurately reflects her mood today.

Danica Bergeron (Sound Designer) is excited to return to Rover, having previously designed sound for Four Weddings and an Elvis. The two-time Column Award winner is the owner of dB Designs, a theatrical design company, and designs audio around the Metroplex. Some of her previous design credits include: Spring Awakening, The Lion in Winter, Nevermore, Cabaret, Monty Python's Spamalot, Streamers, Over the River and Through the Woods, Legally Blonde, The Addams Family, and more.

Kevin Brown (Set Designer) is happy to return to Rover Dramawerks. His previous work was the lobby design out front and These Two Couples Went to Italy. Kevin is a Registered Interior Designer who owns Studio Brown Designs. His work includes, but is not limited to, Residential, Commercial, Multi-family Housing, Remodel Consultation, Merchandizing, Holiday Décor, and Theatrical Set Design and Dressing. Kevin’s work has been seen on several stages across the DFW area including Uptown Players, ONSTAGE in Bedford, Runway Theatre, MainStage Irving Las Colinas, The Other Theater Experience, Musical Theater of Denton, and Mesquite Community Theater. Runway’s Cabaret won him the Column Award for best original set design in 2015. Kevin gives thanks to his friend Charla for her consistent encouragement. www.facebook.com/StudioBrownDesigns

Sakura Brunette (Costume Designer) is thrilled to be part of the World Premiere of Crisis, and her second production at Rover! She is a recent graduate of the McMaster Theatre and Film program. "McMaster... I've never heard of that?" Well that's because Sakura is brand new to Texas from that place up north with moose, Mounties and maple syrup! When she's not at the theatre, Sakura loves doing makeup for various events and photoshoots, as well as volunteering her time as a Pet Photographer at the Plano City Animal Shelter. She'd like to thank the Rover Dramawerks family for continuing to let her be a part of amazing projects and making her feel so welcome in this community.

Allison Garrett (Backstage Crew, TNT Summer Intern) is excited to join Rover Dramawerks as the summer intern. She is currently a student at UT- Austin where she is studying Theatre Education. At UT, she has assistant stage managed the main stage shows, Enter a Woman Pretty Enough, and Teatro Mágico. She wants to thank Rover and Texas Nonprofit Theatre for allowing her to have this amazing opportunity.

Shelby Gilliland (Cindy) is honored to be acting in her first show at Rover! She is currently a theatre major at Stephen F. Austin State University, where she will be receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts. She will spend the next year studying abroad at International Drama Schools in London and Barcelona. She'd like to thank her family and friends for their continuous support and the whole team at Rover Dramawerks, who have made her feel welcome since the second she stepped in their door last summer to intern for them.

It has been too many years since Matt Gunther (Charles Prince) has been on the Rover stage and he is thrilled to join this wonderful cast for the world premiere of Crisis. He studied electrical engineering and theater at New Mexico State University, so you know where he makes his living. However, his right brain is grateful to get out of the house occasionally and feed. Some of his favorite shows he’s played in the DFW area include Everything in the Garden, Social Security, Half and Half, 12 Angry Jurors, Two Rooms, Over the River and Through the Woods, and Behind the Cotton Curtain – Remembering Medgar Evers. Matt has written several screenplays, stage plays, poetry, and tons of prose for the last 30 years, although his favorite thing to write is love notes to his wife Penny. Theater is a time-consuming effort and only with her love and support is he able to sate that which he’s tried to give up, but which always draws him back. (Right brain roars!) Down boy.

Larry Herold (Playwright) is from Dallas. He wishes all theaters were as fun, passionate and open to new plays as Rover Dramawerks. Thanks to Carol R. for the yes, Kevin K. for the notes, and David M. for the inspiration. Crisis is dedicated, as always, to the lovely EB.

Chad Jones (Sound Board Operator) is proud to be in his first ever “Crisis” at Rover Dramawerks. Chad has been previously seen at MCT in The Secret Affairs of Mildred Wild, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, Dearly Departed, Driving Miss Daisy, and their Birthday Bash, and was Stage Manager/Assistant Director for The Cemetery Club and crew for A Tuna Christmas. Chad is a graduate of Forney High School and attended Eastfield College in Mesquite, then completing his BA at UNT. Chad is looking forward to more Rover Dramawerks performances and spending the rest of his life, with the love of his life Ashly, whom he met while in MCT’s ...Kindergarten.

Terrie W. Justus (Props Designer) has worked with Rover since 2002, as a performer, property designer, producer, and board member. Her favorite performance was in the title role of Veronica’s Room. She has designed props for numerous productions at Rover, including Cactus Flower, 18 Holes, Out of Sterno, WRENS, and Sherlock Holmes and the Jersey Lily, to name a few. She has also designed props for Pocket Sandwich Theatre’s productions of Journey to the Center of the Earth, Herbbits, Wizards & Borks, Oh My!, Triangles and Moon Over Buffalo.

Darcy Koss (Stage Manager) began working backstage for Rover in 2011, when she worked on Murder at the Orient Burlesque. A few of the shows she has stage managed for Rover include Rocket Man, The Girls in 509, Bloody Murder, WRENS, Same Time Next Year, Other People's Money, and 18 Holes. Most recently she branched out a bit to stage manage Steel Magnolias for the Company of Rowlett Performers. She loves working with the cast and crew and bringing the shows to life, which is especially fun on a world premiere like Crisis. She'd like to thank Jason and Carol for allowing her to be a part of the Rover family.

Paul McKenzie (Director) is excited to be directing the World Premiere of Crisis! Paul has directed Other People's Money and Completely Hollywood (abridged) for Rover. Other favorite projects include Lend Me a Tenor, Forever Plaid, and Dearly Departed. Thanks to family and friends for their continued support and encouragement!

Rover Dramawerks is honored to host an intern through Texas Nonprofit Theatres. Welcome Allison Garrett! She just arrived on Monday, May 23, we’ve already got her working hard! She’s a part of our backstage crew for Crisis and will be helping out at rehearsals for our upcoming 10-minute play festival. Also while she’s here, she’ll teach at our drama camps and run lights and sound for a camp showcase, attend fundraising webinars and assist in grant writing, help clean out our prop room, attend Rotary meetings and functions with board members, work in the box office, attend production meetings for Heels Over Head and put up posters in store windows all over town. We’re also making sure she gets a sampling of what the other theatres in the area have to offer by taking her to shows at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre, Camp Death Productions, and ONSTAGE in Bedford, to name a few. Allison Garrett is a junior Theatre Education Major at the University of Texas, with the goal of teaching high school theatre. Later this summer, she will also be spending five weeks at LifeStage in Grapevine as their intern through TNT. Allison is with us through June 25, and we’ll miss her when she’s gone. We think she has a very bright future in theatre. Texas Nonprofit Theatres is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the theatres of Texas and the communities they serve. TNT, with the support of the Texas Commission on the Arts, sponsors internships to address the needs of theatres for qualified assistance, and the need of students for information about theatre careers and for job opportunities in the field. The goal of the program is to expose students to the theatre profession by providing firsthand experience working with and in theatres; giving an overview of current issues in the profession; and facilitating job opportunities through contacts made in the Texas theatre community. Please visit www.texastheatres.org for more information about TNT.

Meet the Intern! Carol M. Rice (Margot Euston) is the Artistic Director of Rover Dramawerks, as well as one of the co-founders. For Rover, she has appeared in Everything in the Garden (Jenny), Woman in Mind (Susan), Bloody Murder (Lady Somerset), and Cactus Flower (Stephanie Dickinson), and she most recently appeared in Steel Magnolias (M’Lynn) with the Company of Rowlett Performers. A few of the plays she has directed for Rover include The Cupcake Conspiracy, Written in Time, Morphic Resonance, and Epic Proportions, and she will be directing Kong’s Night Out later this season. Also a playwright, Carol has plays published through Next Stage Press (nextstagepress.com) and Brooklyn Publishers (brookpub.com). Despite her absolute love of theatre, her favorite roles are Wife to best friend Jason and Mom to Stephen and Scott.

Michael Speck (General Chavera) is back at Rover! Recently he could be seen here acting in one of the One Day Only events. Prior to that, he has performed in The Crowd You're in With, Little Mary Sunshine, and Wonder of the World. He has also performed in the area for Theatre Britain in shows such as The Mousetrap and King Arthur. When not acting onstage, he can also be found doing voiceovers for Funimation and starring as the title role in the web series Ronnie Redshirt, which can be found on YouTube.

Jack Wilkinson (Lighting Designer) joined the Rover Dramawerks family with his design for Rocket Man. He is EXTREMELY excited to be working on the world premiere production of Crisis! Prior to returning to the Dallas Metroplex, he spent a 25 year design spree in the SF Bay area working with West Bay Opera, as well as other companies. So far he seems to be enjoying the Rover group and hopes to be doing more work with them in the future.

In Loving Memory

On May 20, 2016, Rover Dramawerks lost a member of our theatre family. Christian Hopson (stage name Christian Alexandria) was a large part of our recent 365 Women a Year Festival, with roles in three of the plays. She was also cast in this production of Crisis. While her role has been recast, she can never be replaced in our hearts. Even though Christian was relatively new to Rover, we all fell in love with her beautiful spirit and giving nature. And she was a very talented actress. She has

been in several short films, several of which can be found on YouTube, and she had a bright future ahead of her in theatre and film that was cut tragically short. Christian was only 26.
