For these reasons, the arrival to the hotel, especially from the Bratislava direction, is quite complicated through several smaller streets of the city.

Arrival from the Bratislava direction: 12 min, 6.7 km

Head north on the D1/ E75. Take Exit 84 Piešťany-Vrbové. Continue on Vrbovská cesta (no. 499). At the roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay at Vrbovská. Take Krajinská (no. 499) and continue. At the traffic lights turn left onto Bratislavská (no. 61) and continue via Bratislavská and Žilinská 2.4 km. At the FIAT car dealer, turn right to Pod Párovcami (last turn to the right before leaving the city). Turn slightly to the right and continue 1 km. After the Pension JAMPA turn left to Valová and continue 150 m. Turn right onto Emila Belluša (one way) and continue 400 m. At the end of the street, turn right at the Nábrežie Ivana Krasku. Continue 700 m to the PARK Hotel.

PPiieeššťťaannyy is located 80 km north-east of Bratislava, on the right bank of the Váh river, at the foot of the Považský Inovec mountains. The history of the city is related to the development of the spa in the 16

th century. Thermal water which springs up from a depth of about 2000 meters, and unique

sulphur mud, were the basis for the so-called Napoleon Spa. The Piešťany SPA became the world-famous thanks to modern methods of treatment of rheumatism and other diseases of the locomotor system. Piešťany mud is one of the best peloids in the world. A unique lively ecosystem is created in the dead arm of the Váh due to the long-term reaction of thermal water with local soft rocks. After being drawn from the river, the mud is deposited in the pools, where at 40 °C it matures for at least one year, with the constant flow of thermal water enriches it with other minerals. The sulphur mud has a special microflora, and a steel-to-black colour. Its consistency is greasy plastic, and because it delivers heat 3- to 4-times slower than water, the body heats up more gently – it has hyperthermic effects not only on the surface of the skin but also on the muscles and joints, which additionally passes the ingredients. The active ingredients of Piešťany mud and thermal water are also used in cosmetics (they have similar effects as Dead Sea extracts) and in the treatment of certain skin diseases (eczema, psoriasis, acne, etc.).
