Wesley UMC I am completely humbled to be part of a family that is focused of reaching people for Jesus Christ. My heart was filled with joy last week when we had over 40 people worshiping together at the assisted living center. I could just see the smile on the face of Jesus as He watched His children loving on each other. It was just a few days earlier that week when the Steps ministry fed right at 70 children that Wednesday. And even though we had a cold evening for Trunk or Treat we had numerous volunteers that served dinner, played games, and passed out candy to the children of our community and made it a fantastic night. Also this month, Pack the Pews lived up to its name as over 130 people were served a great meal both physically and spiritually. As I write this, Thanksgiving is right around the corner and we are preparing to top the 225 people we served last year. Think about this for one minute, in the span of less than a month God has allowed us to minister to hundreds of people in our community even as we sent out 120 boxes for Operation Christmas Child, brought water to people living in a dump in Honduras, and gave to countless other global ministries. Our Missions committee is doing an outstanding job of maximizing the impact we can make with our resources. I sometimes wonder why God has allowed me the great privilege of being around such great people. I am truly thankful and blessed.

As we move past Thanksgiving and Black Friday shopping, we move into the season of Advent and then finally Christmas. Everyone’s schedule is about to be filled with holiday events. The meaning of Christmas can easily be forgotten because of the busyness of this time of year. Jesus can be completely lost in the planning of parties, gift buying, and other activities of the season. A great reminder of this season is found in Isaiah 9:6, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

On December 5,6, and 7 Shane Willard will be speaking at Wesley and I would ask you to make this a priority in your schedule. Shane travels all over the world and we are extremely blessed to have him come to Wesley. We are a church that pours ourselves out on a regular basis and it is important that we take time to fill ourselves up spiritually so we don’t get burned out. Hello Wesley, I want to begin by saying thank you for this great opportunity to serve not only our youth as the youth pastor, but also our church and community. God is opening up many doors and bringing His vision of the Kingdom to Union City. With help from our wonderful youth committee, I plan to continue the great traditions already being done and continue to pray for guidance as we journey through life together here at Wesley. We have had many great events including Trunk or Treat, Pack the Pews, and our Annual Thanksgiving dinner for the community. The Steps ministry is thriving with multiple new youths coming in to the Steps where they have encountered the love of God. I get a front row seat to watch God move in their lives. The ministry has given them hope, a safe place to come and worship, building courage and boldness to invite their families to our church, where they experience God's love through us. I'm

amazed every week when I see God transforming the youth in our community into Kingdom warriors. As for Wesley M.A.D. youth we have a great season of events coming up. Starting this month we will be doing a local outreach in our city, bagging customers groceries and carrying them to their cars. This will enable our youth to serve and share the love of Jesus with our community. The Muncie Mission is another opportunity for our youth to serve and share, which I know will be a success. A Christmas program is being planned which will bring many new families to Wesley where we ask you to shower them with Jesus’ love. I ask that you continue to pray for our youth at Wesley as we journey through life together. Thank you and God bless,
