LED 越来越广泛用于照明，UL以往的传统灯具标准已

经不能涵盖这类新产品，不能很好地对这类产品新的安全性的评估。标准的制定经过了研发测试，照明行业调查，市场产品反馈等各方信息这些过程。

从07年初的8750 Issue No.1到08年7月份的Issue No.3, 前后一共做了三次修改。09年又经历了一些讨论。最终制定第一版本。- UL 8750 第一版于2009年11月18日正式发布。

UL 8750 范围：1) LED 封装，阵列，组件等2) LED 电源3) LED 控制器，驱动

另外，UL8750将对LED范围作了比较明确的规定，限定于可见光范围，以前的版本涵盖紫外，红外光，标准已经将这些不可见光LED排除在该标准范围。（These requirements cover LED equipment that is an integral part of a luminaire or

other equipment and which operates in the visible light spectrum between 400 – 700

nm.）

标准范围


LED用于灯具产品，本标准仅作为该灯具产品的补充。下列是一些相关灯具的UL

标准。LED equipment is utilized in lighting products that comply with the end-product

一些重要的定义：Circuit, Class 2：认为没有触电风险及火灾隐患的电路Circuit, Isolated Low Voltage Limited Energy (LVLE)：认为无触电风险的电路Enclosure, electrical：电气外壳，主要功能是防止电击Enclosure, fire：防火外壳，主要功能防止火焰从内部向外蔓延Isolated output：隔离的输出，具有一定的安全防护功能LED array：LED阵列, 内部没有任何控制部件，正常是由简单的发光二极管根电阻通过串并接组成Led control module (LED controller): 不起到升降压等变压器功能，但会对二极管

或二极管阵列发送控制信号改变二极管等的显示状态。一般连接与变压器（电源）与LED阵列之间。

环境因素：（Environmental Consideration）Dry locations(干燥):

Dame locations(潮湿): 潮态测试，标签Wet locations(户外): 潮态+淋雨测试，标签；塑胶外壳还有相应的UV检测或提供防UV的材质

潮态：88± 2 % RH, 32.0 ± 2.0° C

机械结构要求：1）总概：如果照明产品标准有对机械结构的规定仅需满足这些照明产品的规定而不需要考虑UL8750的要求。若照明产品没有规定，或某些特殊的机构没有明确说明，则采用UL8750的要求来评估；

2）外壳要求：金属外壳：厚度，有无毛刺或锋利边角，防腐蚀，塑料外壳：

燃烧等级：默认要求：5VA，移动式灯具，轨道灯：V-2.

LED 阵列模组的透镜：V-1

CTI/HWI/HAI的要求：当带电体距离塑料小于0.8mm的时候考虑（并且仅针对Direct connected 状况）

LED 阵列模组的透镜，即使是在危险电压上工作，能同时满足下面两个条件可以不需要额外的外壳：

防电击：该透镜材质为玻璃或能通过500V耐压测试的塑胶料；防火：提供最低V-1的防火等级的材质


3）外壳开孔：正常外壳是不允许开孔的。在特定情况下(产品不会安装在橱柜或一些不容易看到的场合)，可以开孔但是必须使用适当的遮挡保证不能从孔看到Open Core and Coil Components – 变压器，马达

4）导线的保护：120度以上的翻边；1.2mm厚的套管或金属孔眼，0.25mm厚的玻纤套管 – 与一般的灯具标准相类似，薄板厚度小与1.1mm时

5）Strain relief and push back relief: 防突拉，防推装置（operating above Class 2

or LVLE limits），灌胶（epoxy potting compound）除外；

6）灌胶：RTI ，如果灌胶的是沥青：Asphalt potting compound shall remain at

least 15° C (27° F) below its softening point as determined by the Standard Test

Methods for Softening Point of Resins Derived from Naval Stores by Ring-and-Ball

Apparatus, ASTM E28. – 参考UL935

电气结构要求：1）总概：如果照明产品标准有对电气结构的规定仅需满足这些照明产品的规定而不需要考虑UL8750的要求。若照明产品没有规定，或某些特殊的机构没有明确说明，则采用UL8750的要求来评估；带电体的材质必须是：银、铜、铜合金等自身具有防腐蚀性能的材料（A current-carrying part shall be silver,

copper, a copper alloy, plated iron or steel, stainless steel, or other corrosion-

resistant alloys acceptable for the application.）；未绝缘的带电体应该适当的安装防止松脱，偏移等降低爬电距离或空间间隙。

2）可接触性：采用UL手指，施加4.45N的外力去检测；移除所有不用工具（直接用手）可以去除的部件；绝缘挡板厚度：0.71mm, 在一定的条件下可以小于0.71mm.

0.33~0.71mm, 0.25~0.71mm, <0.71mm.


3）内线Soldered connections shall be mechanically secured before soldering,

正常需要使用18号线。Conductors of a size smaller than 18 AWG (0.82

mm2) but no smaller than 24 AWG (0.21 mm2) – 特定条件；甚至可以低于24号线：Conductors of a size smaller than 24 AWG (0.21 mm2) are

permitted when, the conductors are in Class 2 or isolated LVLE circuits

only and are physically separated from all other non-Class 2 or non-isolated

LVLE wiring circuits, such as by a barrier or reliably fixed spacing of

minimum 6.4 mm (0.25 in).

4）电源输入，输出连接固定式连接：导线管，现场布线，直推式（Put-in）电缆式或直插式：Minimum 18AWG, minimum 1.5 m (5 ft) in length, for dry

location only shall be Type SP-2, Type SPE-2, Type SPT-2, or heavier. Rated for

outdoor use by a surface marking ―W‖ or ―Water Resistant.‖

非与电源线连接的导线或接头：A unit with multiple supply or load connections where interconnection

could cumulatively exceed Class 2 or LVLE limits shall be provided with

polarized connectors that inhibit such interconnection.

Output connectors mounted on the enclosure and intended for direct

connection of accessories shall provide a secure connection between

mating parts. The connections shall be polarized if the output is direct

current or if multiple outputs are provided.

Coaxial cable connectors shall not be used for output connections.


5）电路的隔离：不同电路的导线间至少保持可靠距离：6.44mm; 或绝缘能满足最高电压要求；

6）绝缘材料：依照UL746C要求评估；

7）PCB板：燃烧等级：最低V-1， Class2/LVLE不考虑；

8) 电气间隙、距离：如125V以内：3.2 mm/ 6.4 mm (空气间隙/爬电距离)；另PCB板上零部件可以参考UL840标准评估：采用2类过压，CTI>=100(最低具有100的值), 污染等级视使用场合而不同。- Class2/LVLE, 封装件，零部件自身的距离都不需使用此规定。另外，如果能通过8.4的耐压测试也认为可以满足要求。


9）电路零件：NTC, PTC; X-Cap., Y-Cap.; Optical Isolator; Two Cap. in series;

Transformer;

10) 保护装置Fuse；Overcurrent protective device

11) 线圈的绝缘

漆包线认为是具有防潮特征的。但是漆包线当作是没有任何绝缘的导体。导体间的电气间隙、距离需要参考前面的要求评估。


12) 变压器的绝缘

需要提供绝缘的地方(1) Between primary wires of opposite polarity

(2) Between primary and secondary windings

(3) Between the primary winding and the core or secondary winding and the core

(4) Between a crossover lead and

a) The turns of the winding to which it is connected

b) The adjacent winding,

c) The metallic enclosure, and

d) The core

(5) Between [primary winding lead connections] and a metallic enclosure

(6) Between the [primary-lead connections] and the adjacent winding

(7) Between [secondary-lead connections] and the primary winding


12) 变压器的绝缘 - Cont‘d

四种绝缘模式I:

a) Electrical grade paper, or similar material of not less than 0.305 mm (0.012 in), or

b) Any material with dielectric breakdown strength of not less than 2500 V

II:

a) Electrical grade paper, or similar material of not less than 0.71 mm (0.028 in), or

b) Any material with dielectric breakdown strength of not less than 5000 V

III:

A molded polymeric material such as a coil form or bobbin having a minimum

thickness of 0.644 mm (0.025 in) - 常见于抽屉式

IV:

Not less than 0.305 mm (0.012 in) thick + (>=0.5 air spacing) of required - 常见于未绝缘带电体跟金属外壳之间

使用绝缘胶带在绕线骨架边缘，用于替代该边缘的间隙、距离，至少有连续的0.8mm的宽度；

同轴单边的变压器，需要通过15天输出负载测试。- 层间仅有一层绝缘，并且该层绝缘不能达到耐压超过2500V。


13）Class 2输出电路：输出满足UL1310的Class2的规定。

测试基本条件：a) 空气不流通的房间；b) 环境温度为 25 ± 5° C (77 ± 9° F)，除非厂家规定更高的环境温度；c) 电源必须条件在额定电压5%的误差范围内。

MET Lab = Manufacturers Enjoyed Test Lab测试内容

测试内容包括：1. Input test：输入测试，额定参数的校对；输入电流或功率不能超过110%的额定值。2. Temperature test：模拟正常使用的稳定状态下的温度分布；3. Dielectric voltage withstand test：绝缘耐压测试；1000V + 2V; 500V;

4. Abnormal tests：异常测试：模拟异常状况下的现象；a) Component failure test：零部件失效，单一失效测试；Class2/LVLE 或功率

点不超过50W的电路不需要这个测试；b) Output loading test：输出加载 – 针对LED驱动或控制模组；包括短路及过

载。判断条件：外壳温度不能超过90度（或150度，如果在1个小时内保护）5. 50-Watt point power measurement test：50W功率点检测；6. Leakage current measurement test：泄漏电流测试；


7. Cord strain and pushback relief test：电源线突拉及防推测试；35lbf (20lbf), 6lbf

(5lbf)

8. Security of output terminals：输出端子9. Insulation-piercing connection thermal cycling test：温度老化测试-绝缘穿刺连接10. Adhesive support test：粘接强度测试，5倍的拉力（包括老化前后）11. Environmental tests：环境影响测试

a) Humidity exposure 潮态测试b) Water exposure 淋雨测试

UL Subject 879A - Outline of Investigation

for LED Kits, 会与UL48有些联系。这个标准是用来评估在现场将原有UL48审核通过的灯具内部电路及光源替换成LED及其电路。常见的是替换霓虹广告灯，要去掉灯管，电路，电源等，然后装上LED光源，以及相应的电路。

目前UL48还没有专门针对UL 8750做相应的调整，故评估UL48

的LED产品的时候，关于LED的部分，会以UL 8750为补充标准来一起评估。

UL153最近的更新日期为February 23, 2010，这次更新增加了关于LED节能灯的面温升的要求。同时也增加了荧光节能灯，荧光灯适配器装在GU-24,

GU-24-1灯头时的免温升的要求。47.1.3 A portable incandescent luminaire that

complies with the temperature test-exempt requirements

of 47.1.1, may also be marked in accordance with 172.1.1

for use with a fluorescent or LED self-ballasted lamp or

fluorescent lamp adapter, providing the lamp replacement

marking for the device does not exceed the marked wattage

value for the incandescent lamp. [注：只要LED或荧光节能灯，荧光灯适配器的额定功率不超过免温升白炽灯的功率，也当作是满足免温升的要求。]


60.2.1 A portable luminaire provided with a GU-24 or GU-24-1 holder and intended

for either a fluorescent or LED self-ballasted lamp is not required to be subjected to

the Normal Temperature Test – General, Section 124, and Test Method – General,

Section 125, providing that:

a) The shade designation is determined in accordance with Section 47.3; - [评估的时候参考白炽灯的免温升距离的评估]

b) The shade complies with the minimum lamp-to-shade spacing in Section 47.4 for

the shade designation, using the values in the tables for a ‗medium‘ type lampholder,

关于电源部分：44.2 Compliance of the limited power source requirements of item (d) of 44.1 shall be

considered equivalent to Class 2 with respect to application of requirements of this

standard. [注：UL153里面认为LPS的电源等同于Class 2的电源]

有关电源选择方面，对于Class 2的电源，标准有特殊的解释：•电气间隙（潮态）•绝缘挡板•带电体的可接触性•机械固定•PWB

•异常测试在Class 2的电路中或由Class 2电源供电状况下，上述这些规定/测试，不需要额外考虑。

是荧光灯产品为主。同时目前比较热门的LED 灯管，也应采用此标准作为补充，对该LED灯管的安装及调整作了补充说明。

经被接受，并且会在近期发布。鉴于之前的调整都是针对UL 8750 First edition之前

最近的更新日期：2009.08.28 （第三版）此版本将CSA C22.2 No. 1993 – 第一版，合并成协调标准。CSA产品评估，以前均采用TIL B-36B &

B-69此类标准来评估。

本标准参考了LED产品的特性，增加了LED电源、LED电路等的规定。此标准虽然主要评估Edison 灯头的荧光节能灯，

但是由于该类产品涵盖了节能灯使用环境，测试条件等，与一般LED节能灯，甚至是LED 灯管

（可以取代荧光灯）也是相符的。故，评估此类LED产品的时候，会引用相当部分的要求来评估，包括结构以及测试。
