Scope of work Trade contractor of this project will be responsible for the execution of the work in accordance with the specifications and relevant approved documentations. The scope of work includes supply and installation of waterproofing system (WP2) including PCI gisogrund protective primer, PCI lastogum waterproof coating, and PCI pecitape fabric tape system at the L33 to L37 tower suite bathroom areas. Relevant submission

Material Submission of the wash and protective primer PCI gisogrund for walls and floors.

Material Submission of the waterproof, flexible protective coating PCI lastogum under marble panels in toilets, shower and bathrooms with official test certificates.

Application of waterproofing system Preparation work

    1. Site Cleaning 2. Site surveying and setting out 3. Erect working platform if necessary and according site safety

    regulations.

    Concerns

    1. Working at Height Working platform will be provided if higher than 2m and erected by experience competent worker and inspected by the appointed professional person signing and certifying Form 4 & 5 before use and re-inspection on 7-14 days.

    2. Substrate Preparation Substrate must be solid, dry, clean and free from oil. The surface must not have any pockets, gaping cracks or ridges.

    3. Factor affecting Evaporation Time for Lastogum Higher temperatures reduce and lower temperatures increase these times. The airflow will affect the evaporation time as well.

    4. Quality of drywall The surface of the board, the workmanship of the joints between boards and wall to floor joint alignment should be inspected before application.

    y Installation

    1. Remove all debris on wall and floor surface. 2. Absortive mineral substrates are to be primed with PCI gisogrund

with 1:1 water. 3. Wait the primer to completely dry for at least 3 hours.

    4. Application of PCI lastogum liquid applied waterproofing membrane.

    5. The first coat should be applied with PCI lastogum red. Evaporation

time after first coat is minimum 3 hours at 23 degree and 50% relative humidity.

    6. Sealing the corner and wall to floor and wall to wall joints by pressing

PCI pecitape 120 sealing tape onto the fresh first coat at corner or joints. Cut the tape to fit corners.

    7. Sealing the pipe penetrations by using the fingers, stretch a PCI

pecitape 10X10 sealing gasket to give tight fit over the pipe. Place it in position, bedding it onto the fresh first coat.

    8. Sealing a floor drain by cutting PCI pecitape 35X35 sealing gasket to suit drain system to be used. Place it in position, bedding it onto the fresh first coat. Insert loose flange of the floor outlet and screw down.

    9. For wall application, apply the second coat of PCI lastogum gery

which is a one-component system. Or floor application, apply second coat of PCI lastogum grey, which is a two-component system.

    10. Ensure the cured waterproofing membrane is dry and has not been

    damaged before fixing marble.

    11. Water testing as per requested in the specification, please refer to field quality control section.

    12. Waterproofing need to be protected after water test.

Field quality control 1. Visual inspection

z Visually inspect waterproofing system installation thoroughly in presence of contractors representative for mock-up trail and bubbles formed in the waterproofing system or any defects will be made good as recommended by manufacturer.

  • Method Statement for Waterproofing System (WP2)

    2. Testing of horizontal installation

z After allowing waterproofing system installation to completely cure and set, flood test horizontal installations with a minimum of 50mm of water for 24 hours examine for identify and repair any leaks.

z Make joint inspection with architects, consultants and main

contractors representative throughout the test. Record the testing result on inspection forms, taking record photos where necessary.

    3. Water spray test to waterproofing system applied to wall

z For wall exceeding 300mm high only, joint inspection with architects, consultants and main contractors representative for water spray test will be arranged at least 72 hours (in any case, as per the manufacturers advise) after waterproofing membrane is applied.

z Apply water using a common domestic telephone type shower head

fitted to a 13mm diameter supply pipe delivering water pressure of not less than 0.2N/mm2. Locate the pressure gauge at a distance not exceeding 1500mm from the shower head.

z Carefully make inspection of the other side of the waterproofed wall

surface to check any water seepage.

z Record the testing result, taking photo record where necessary. Protection

    1. Ensure that all waterproofing are protected from traffic, weather and damage during construction. Repair or replace all damaged waterproofing before covering with other finish materials.

    2. Protect all insulation from damage from wetting, loading or abuse until

they are under protective covering material or finish. 3. Protect adjacent surfaces and materials from damage and soiling by

the work of this section. Cleaning

    1. Remove all debris after completion of the work of this section.
