This Museum of History and Folklore has an old

private house. Japanese tools that were used

everyday by Japanese people in the past can be

found inside and this tools were well maintained

and still looks the same. You can learn more

about living in Yoron Island and deeply

understand its culture with the help of a

narrator from KIKU family who established this

place. In this place, you will also experience

doing BASHOHU.

赤崎鍾乳洞 あかさきしょうにゅうどう アカサキショウニュウドウ

Yoronjima is an island that was naturally created as a

result of the upheaval coral. It was eroded by

groundwater and a sculpture of nature was built over a

long period of time and it is now called Akasaki

shounyudou.

ゆんぬ体験館 ゆんぬたいけんかん ユンヌタイケンカン

This is an experience facility where you can

learn about the life of Yoron island, local

cuisine, culture, etc. There are many things

you can experience here. You can visit

historic sights, sanshin, listen to yoron folk

song, try sugar cane harvest and other local

cuisine (sweets).

There are no trains in yoron island,

but there is a monument called

YORON-EKI (yoron station). This is

an interesting place. At the station,

you can see a wheels on rails about

five meters long, a station name
