Read the following passage, then answer the questions below:

Many things we use every day to go from place to place move on wheels. For

example, the bus, the motor bike ,the car and many other vehicles move on wheels. One of

the things that move on wheels is the bicycle. Bicycles are important for both young people

and grown-ups. People use them for fun and work all over the world.

The history of the bike is interesting. In 1818,the bicycle had no pedals. They were

added in 1839.The pedals made them move faster than the old ones. More speed was

possible by making the front wheel very large. But such bicycles were dangerous to ride.

By 1900, most of the bicycle parts that we know today were developed. They

included equal-sized wheel, brakes to stop the bike and a chain connecting the pedals to

the back wheel to transport the movement.

Using the bike to go to school is a clean way of moving around. Unlike other means

of transport, the bike doesn’t use petrol. This means that the bike keeps the air clean. It also

doesn’t need a big place to park. This is why in some big cities in the world, people can

only ride bicycles.

How do astronauts live in space? One problem of living in space is how to keep the

astronauts warm. Other problems are eating, sleeping, and exercising with no gravity. The outside

of the space shuttle is covered with small tiles. Under the tiles there are other layers of metal to

protect the astronauts from the cold of space.

How do the astronauts eat? Food and drinks would simply float away if they weren't handled

correctly. To combat this problem, food is carefully contained and drinks are packaged as

dehydrated powders .A major problem facing astronauts is sleeping. Some astronauts sleep standing

up, while others sleep lying down. They have to sleep tied to their beds so they don't float around.

Read the following passage, then answer the questions below:

Many things we use every day to go from place to place move on wheels. For

example, the bus, the motor bike ,the car and many other vehicles move on wheels.

One of the things that move on wheels is the bicycle. Bicycles are important for

both young people and grown-ups. People use them for fun and work all over the

world.

The history of the bike is attention- grabbing. In 1818,the bicycle had no

pedals. They were added in 1839.The pedals made them move faster than the old

ones. More speed was possible by making the front wheel very large. But such

bicycles were dangerous to ride.

By 1900,most of the bicycle parts that we know today were developed .They

included equal-sized wheel, brakes to stop the bike and a chain connecting the

pedals to the back wheel to transport the movement .

Using the bike to go to school is a clean way of moving around. Unlike other

means of transport, the bike doesn’t use petrol. This means that the bike keeps the

air clean. It also doesn’t need a big place to park. This is why in some big cities in

the world, people can only ride bicycles.
