- Contexte groupe CLIOTOP + ISSF (Mahé, SD, IIFET MPL tuna workshop)
- Rent-sharing problem between northern and southern countries (Vallée-Guillotreau 2009) + (Squires et al., 2006) recent example of OTEC in Feb 2010: which price should be taken into consideration for an agreement?
1. Global integration of European markets (co-authors R. Jiménez-Toribio & R. Mongruel)
- Competitive ex-vessel markets => local depletion has no effect on global markets => no incentive for reducing catches (Bose & Mc lgorm 1996, Jeon et al. 2007)
- Ideally (for resource sustainability), a monopolistic first stage and competitive second stage of the supply chain (otherwise no scarcity signals for the fishermen)
- Derived demand framework (Gartner 1975, Heien 1980, Asche et al. 1999) with a single variable input (P1=.P2
)
Good market integration at the worldwide level
(Jiménez-Toribio et al. 2010, Squires et al. 2006, Jeon et al. 2008)

Market power
Existence of market power on the French market of canned yellowfin in brine (OLS estimation with break test 1998:3 = same results)
Differentiation + EU trade protection (RoO + tariff = 24%)
Double or treble marginalisation? (case of IOT in Seychelles, share of private labels…)
Any doubt?... Rear margins by retailers > unit margin (market power more invisible)

Qdi = a - biPi - S bijPj + cR + S bkAk
