A seminar on “Linking the Hand with the Horoscope” was held on 21st December 

2014 

at 

the 

Azarimal 

Somani 

College, 

Bharatiya 

Vidya 

Bhavan, 

Mumbai. 

The 

Seminar was organized by Prof.  G.B. Forbes, the Principal of  Bhavan's Jyotisha 

Bharati, and conducted by Prof. Anthony Writer.  It is dedicated to the late Prof. 

Gopalkrishna D. Modi, the former Principal of  Jyotisha Bharati, who initiated this 

project  for  future  studies  and  research  at  our  Institute  on  a  scientific 

temperament.

The theme of  the seminar highlighted the use of  the 5 elements: Fire, Earth, Air, 

Water and Ether to link the mounts of  the hand, the fingers, the phalanges, nails 

and tips of  the fingers, the  lines of  the hand and the dermatoglyphics such as 

the arch, loop, whorls, etc., to the signs of  the zodiac and the planets of  the Solar 

System.  Through a combination of  systems and methods used by the Acharyas 

of   the  East and  the Savants of   the West,  we  will definitely  be  in position  to 

complete this project of  Mr. Modi. The success of  the project demands research 

with dedication

 and

 untiring

 efforts.
