National language•One of the most difficult languages.•We have two letters ő and ű which don’t exist anywhere else.•We also have two different words for „red”: vörös and piros. These things are vörös. These things are piros.

Hungarian Sea• Balaton is the biggest lake of the country. Tourists call it

the Hungarian Sea, but we just call it „Balcsi”. Thousands of tourists choose it for their holiday destination every year.

We have 10 national parks. They keep the natural wild safe and their untouched beauty is picturesque.

Hollókő•Hollókő is a traditional village in Hungary and UNESCO World

Heritage Site. Its name means "Raven-stone" in Hungarian.

footballer was Ferenc Puskás.•We are also good at swimming, waterpolo and handball.•We are 8th in the all-time Olympic Games medal table

Traditional food•Hungarian kitchen is not as healthy as it should be.• Paprika is a traditional spice of Hungary.• The most well known Hungarian food is the Goulash soup, but

The capital city, Budapest• The largest city in Hungary with 2 000 000 inhabitants.• Buda and Pest were two seperate towns, but their unification

was in 1873.• The River Danube flows across the city. Buda and Pest are

connected by 9 bridges.

Sightseeing around BudapestHeroes’ square

•One of the major squares in Budapest.• It was built for the 1000th anniversary of the Hungarian

conquest of the Carpathian Basin and the foundation of the Hungarian state in 1896.

Our School• Teleki Blanka Gymnasium is located next to the city park.

• It was established in 1868 and nowadays it is one of the oldest schools in Budapest.

• It was named after Teleki Blanka. She was the first person who opened a school for girls in Budapest where professional teachers were working. Her sculpture is standing in front of the entrace of our school.

• Learning foreign languages in our school is very important. There’s an intensive year of language learning when you mainly study English, but you also have to choose a second language as well. It can be French, Italian or German. After this year you start your high school studies.

•One of our traditions is the freshman camp, where the new students take part in funny games and they are able to know each other. It lasts 3 days every August.

• The day of Science is a day when plenty of lectures are held by doctors, scientists, historians and professor. Every students find here what they are interested in.

• The school always organises trips to foreign countries around Europe, where the students have the chane to get to know other cultures, other traditions. The last trip was to England.
