TRANSCRIPT
A music magazine is a magazine that is completely dedicated to music and all about the music culture! They will inform readers
of all news happening in the music world e.g. upcoming singers or giving you
stories/information on famous singers, bands etc and interviews, photo shoots.
As different people all have different tastes in music there are a range of genres of
magazines to suit each person individually, for example; Indie, Pop and Dance.
What is a music magazine?
POP Magazines…• A pop magazine is the complete
opposite of Indie. Pop is a very popular type of music, the magazines usually use light
colours, pinks and purples etc! Their normal target audience is teenagers who aspire to be like
pop stars so this is why pop magazines will include
gossip, information about pop stars, posters etc. Also
being a popular type of music that will generally mean the
magazine will be popular so they are typically on glossy paper, high quality paper. Here is an example of a Pop Magazine;
Dance magazines …This Dance magazine mainly follows the conventions of a magazine, such
as, it has one model on the front cover who is looking at the camera,
it has a barcode, a masthead and cover lines. The magazine is also about clubbing which we can tell from what the girl is wearing and how she presenting her style with
the handbag and the dog! This magazine cover has not
followed some conventions as well! For example the model is not from the wait us but from the knees up
which actually makes her look slightly photoshopped, also the set
of decks behind the model looks wrong, it looks very out of place.
Indie magazines…Indie magazines are
magazines that obviously are about Indie music. The
word Indie comes from Independent music
artists, because of this the magazines are normally
quite dark, they use reds and black colours and are on rough paper instead of
glossy posh paper. The example of a indie
magazine has only got one picture on the front cover which is what most Indie
magazines will have!
