7:30 to 8:15 p.m. | Zushi BeachVisit Zushi Beach for the 60th Annual Zushi Coastal Fireworks Festival. Viewers are encouraged to view the fi reworks display from either the west or east side of the beach, as the central area of the beach can get crowded. The show will feature more than 7,000 fi reworks, music and more. In case of rain, the fi reworks show will be moved to Saturday, May 27.

COMMENT: Recently the opportunity for spouses to bring children to Purdy fi tness classes has been discontinued. I understand it would be a big problem if a child were hurt because of negligence, but I ask you to consider a diff erent route. I would like to suggest that children 5 and under be “required” to sit in strollers and those 6-10 be required to sit in a designated area. I think having clear guidelines in place is a fair step. on the Quality of Life programs here in Yokosuka. We understand discontinuing the opportunity for parents to bring their children to fi tness classes is an inconvenience to our population. However, this rule is not unique to Yokosuka - it is in place at all Navy Fitness Facilities worldwide. We were lucky to off er this opportunity for the last few months, but are no longer authorized to continue.One option would be implementing a child-watch

rotation with other spouses. One or two spouses work out and supervise the kids in the Family Fitness Room while others take the classes. The Family Fitness Room is the one exercise location in Navy Fitness Facilities where children under 10 are authorized.
