Nominations are hereby called for a 3 man team to represent South Africa (Protea Colours) in the 73rd ILTTA Light Tackle
Billfish Tournament to be held at Crocodile Bay Costa Rica from the 2nd to 7th March 2013. This wil be a 10kg line tournament.
We have not received the detailed invitation but it is fair to assume an entrance fee of approx.. 2500 usd per angler wich excludes
accommodation an airfares.
Nominations are hereby called for a 4 man team to represent South Africa (Protea Colours) in the 2013 EFSA Game Championship
to be held at Los Cabos, Cabos St Lucas Mexico from 26th October to 2nd November 2013.
Entries and deposits have to be paid by the end of January 2013. The tournament will target Stripe Marlin and general gamefish,
mostly using pitch baiting. All baits weather live or dead must be fished with circle hooks, ordinary J-hooks can be used on trolling
lures. The specified line for the tournament is 30lb yellow Ande. The entry fee wil be 1600 usd for a 4 man team and 1950 usd if
a 3 man team is selected. This excludes accommodation an airfares.
Nominations must be received by Lappies Labuschagne before 12h00 Friday 6 December 2012.

The CUSTOM department introduced a new document that need to be completed by each person entering or leaving the country. The old DA331 Travellers Declaration document will be replaced by the new TC-01 Traveller Card. The introducing of the new Travellers Card will commence on the 15 December at all border posts. The new Travellers Card must be completed by all travellers upon arriving at the border post. This declaration must be completed with a black or blue pen in English using capital letters. Parents and guardians should assist minors to complete the Travellers Card. Each traveller or legal guardian in the case of minors must sign the Travellers Card. Only the original Card may be submitted to the Immigration Officer. After Immigration proceed to either the Red or Green channel. On the return to the border post the Travellers Card must again be handed to the Immigration officer. All valuable items such as cameras and laptops need to be declared. All equipment on the boat must be declared such as fishing rods, reels and safety equipment. Fixtures on the boat such as radios and fish finders if installed do not have to be declared. The problem that I foresee with the Traveller Card is that no space was provided for declared items. I had a meeting with the head of CUSTOMS border posts Mpumalanga who suggested that all travellers must compile a list of all the items on the boat or trailer and hand it to the Immigration officer together with the Travellers Card to be stamped as proof that the items were declared. The Travellers Card is actually very simple to complete and self explaining by question and selection of answer. I am in possession of a few of these Travellers Cards and can let you have it to distribute it to familiarize you with it, although it will be available at the border posts.
